Sean!
these are the sociology courses i'm registered in right now. i'm sure you must've taken some of them before:
soci 380 - survey research soci 350 - sociological theories soci 361 - social inequality soci 382 - qualitative research and i want to get into soci 369 - sexuality i know i don't have to take both 382 and 380, which one did you take? i'm trying to find another class to take the place of one of them. i'm thinking i don't want to take the survey research one...sounds kinda boring. also, it's so annoying how most sociology classes are in second term! why don't they make some 3 credit courses for first term, dammit! |

hahah ive taken all of those courses..their all pretty easy but it depends on which profs you have..do you know yet?
the survey research course is pretty boring but its also extremely easy..in fact i found all of those courses to be mind numbingly boring, but thats just me and i hated almost every moment i spent in school. ive never taken that gender relations class before, is it instructed by becki ross? sean laur - 380
thomas kemple - 350 amy hanser - 361 (but i'm hopefully going to drop this course because it's 9:30-11 and my next class after that isn't until 2pm...so i don't want that gap) dan zuberi - 382 becki ross - 369 (sexuality) alexia bloch - 312 (gender relations) do you think i should replace 380 with 312 if i get the chance? the major program only requires you to take one of either 380 or 382...so if i took both would the other class work toward my 12 credits of 300-400 level sociology courses? i don't know if you know that, just wondering. also, like i said, i'm thinking of dropping 361 if i get into the sexuality class because there is such a large gap between classes and i would get to wake up at noon instead of 8am to get to school on tues/thurs. is it a really good class? or should i save it for next year? |

swaping 312 for 380 should be entirely your own perogative either choice will accomdate your credit requirements. are you taking any other classes? |

now i don't have to take the class! hehe.
i think i would rather take the gender relations class than the survey class because that sounds really fucking boring and i would already have satisfied my research method requirements with the qualitative theory class. sucks that you find all sociology classes so boring, the three i've taken have been my favourite classes at ubc. i hope it doesn't go downhill from here :( |
