BURN Damn You!!
Ok so I'm downloading torrents and trying to burn em onto DVDs, and like half of em say "disc error. may not have playback feature" or something when I try and play it in my dvd player, even though it works in my media player on the cp. They have the same ".avi" extention but some work and others don't. What am I missing here?
...help me... |

I did the same yesterday, where I took the two avi's from WOTW and threw em on one pimpin DVD. I attempted to burn them onto CDR but they came up to 900mb encoded files. I think the problem is the fact that they have been encoded in other countries which DVD players are formatted to play based on topographical settings (ie. japan dvd's wont play here). Now im no torrent techy, but my first thought was to recode the files (avi/mpeg/dvix) using some software and then burning them. I will update ya along the way.

haha awesome, bad karma from myles again.
i was about to post the same thing as jdawg but i noticed he had already posted the correct information. i wasnt trying to be hostile/smartassed at all but i guess you need someone to take out your anger management issues on. anyways, movie dvd's have a strict directory structure it follows which involves having a VIDEO_TS folder and AUDIO_TS folder. your avi will also need to be converted into mpeg2 vob files otherwise your dvd player wont be able to read the disc properly. like jdawg said, there are many dvd authoring programs out there. im not sure if it does dvd authoring, but check out "dvd shrink" www.dvdshrink.org |
