Why is my DVD burner acting stupid?
Ok so I've had a burner for about 4 months now and up until about 2 weeks ago, %90 of my burns would work perfectly. I have a program that gets rid of the copyright protection block and everything has been fine until recently when even older DVDs aren't burning properly now. It does the transcoding thing and starts burning ok, but part way through it says "burn process failed" and only a small part of it gets burned. This happens when I go disc to disc and when I go from my hard drive to disc. I'm told that all burners eventually get worn out but it's only been about 4 months and maybe 50 - 75 burns, is that normal for it needing to be replaced already? I've tried different versions of Nero and they all do the same shit. What to do, oh what to do?
Oh and I've tried burning on a slower speed and doing that thing where it burns it in 2 passes to ensure better quality and all that. Nothing helps. |

As for putting out, hmm you know eighty5, to this day you are the only person on F&K to ever give me bad karma. It was for a post about me getting drunk and flinging myself through a wooden fence. Not one of my prouder moments, but I've made a habit of posting my drunken rampages on F&K for any one who cares to read. Maybe a little good karma will balance things out and I'll reconsider. In the mean time, I think me and Jenna have a date, so I gotta go get some rubbers. Thanx and if you can, please explain this media thing to me cause I'm confused again. |

LOL!
Yeah by media I mean what kind of dvds you are using to burn. Even if you are buying the 'same' media as you did before it doesnt matter. You could have gotten a bad pack of discs or they could be the 'same looking' ones as before, but memorex changed the media code slightly when making those discs and your burner doesnt like it. Try another brand of discs to burn to. Just go and buy 1 and if it burns perfectly then voiiiiila it was the discs, if it doesnt then lemme know and ill help you out again. |
