What it is this:
You buy timecode records. The system can identify what record is what, and you can apply a timecode record to an MP3 using the software. Yes, this does mean that you can buy a lot of timecode records and flip them around to switch tracks, but the idea is that you get say three timecode records, one for left, one for right, and one for scratching.
The timecode vinyl plays on your favorite tables, favorite mixer, favorite needles, everything.
The RCA outs on your mixer go to the computer and it regurgitates the timecode and does the appropriate work with the MP3s.
The neatest thing is that you can spin mp3s with the feel of vinyl. You can also advance the needle towards the centre of the record and it will cue forward in the MP3.
Once MP3 PRO comes out, the quality of MP3s will be quite high, and on a std hard disk you could lug around a lifetime of records.
