They're taking a break from touring and making new albums and will be the studio band for the late late night show w/ jimmy fallon.

good for them w/ the late night thing. Its crazy how they have never gone platinum yet will go down as one of the most respected and talented rap groups in history.

Sad that I may never see them play live again if not for a while. My buddy caught them at house of blues in Detroit and said it was pure fire.

Saw the roots when they played UBC a few weeks back. That was the first time I got to see them live. Those cats can really play just about anything.

New album is tight too.

i wanna know what the f the roots are doing with that no talent hack fallon, watching that dude is painfull alot of times im glad i dont have a firearm because id sooner violently remove the grey matter from my head before i watch another minute of that show.

Yeah, turn down a multi-million dollar tv contract that means you don't have to tour, and have a good solid stable job for at least a season. But hey, at least you have your pride. *rolleyes*

Good on them for nailing it. Who cares if it's a douchenozzle who can't keep a straight face? At least they add to the show and get one of the biggest opportunities a band can get. Turning something like that down because you don't think the host has talent (despite, you know, his rather successful career and pretty large following) seems kinda pretentious if you ask me.

Honestly? You'd really turn that kind of an offer down if you were in their shoes?
