no, he listed off hiphop albums. just because you take some non-threatening positive backpack rap and place it on a pedestal doesn't make it any more relevant or valid as an art form.

any of your artists could get shupped by biggie smalls in a cipher. none of them has made a better album than illmatic. they all wouldnt be anywhere without tupac. they will freely admit it too.

hmmm i beg to differ. first of all, he didn't even mention nas so i don't know where you get off talkin about illmatic. and if you're heard the track "i can" then you know nas is going in a new direction. secondly, hiphop and rap are two different genres of music. you couldn't find an mc in the list of hiphop artists i provided that claim to make the same type of music as snoop or petey fukkin pablo.

wack rap has given hiphop a bad name in all the confusion of genres. put black thought and snoop - without his marketing team, in a cipher and we all know what would go down.

i mentioned illmatic because it was the first hip hop classic to come to mind, and nas is hardly backpack. 1 single? that's hardly indicative of his overall body of work in the last 2 or so years. putting 'i can' up against 'made you look' is fucking bananas. fuck i'd say made you look is top 5 of the last 2 years. pick up an album and listen to it. you have no idea right now.

doggystyle/the chronic are pillars of hiphop history. the roots are dope but they if you're hating on snoop dogg because he cant freestyle you're way off base. dude was featured on an album that introduced the world to a new style of hiphop, and then goes on and makes one of the nicest albums to ever come out of california. also has been on other classic singles. how many classics do the does black thought have? 1/7th of an album and maybe 3 singles if you squint? he spits nice but when's the last time the world went OH SHIT at a black thought verse?

snoop is wack? dude dissapeared to no limit for 2 years and still came back with dre and killed it. if roots dropped a weak album they would be a footnote. oh my god you have no idea.

gift of gab ive seen live twice, he's impressive but one dimensional and gimmicky. not even top 50.

j5 is great but has made 3 basic songs over and over. how many times can they 'take it back'? group should be called 'above average production, featuring charlie 2na and some other dudes no one remembers'.
