Muzik Awards 2002: Nominations for best Ibiza tune
And not a big euphoric breakdown in sight... Sep 11, 2002 Shiny disco balls? As the sands of this year’s Ibiza season finally run out and everybody gets in the mood for a final parting rave up before the clubs close, it’s time once again to decide which tune ruled the dancefloors – at least as far as the Muzik mag peeps are concerned – and below we have the shortlist containing all the nominations: Layo & Bushwacka! – Love Story (XL) A popular choice for ‘last tune’ of the night in clubs all over Ibiza during the summer, this one’s got to be a strong contender for the crown. Due to huge demand it’s also now set for re-release in October. Octave One – Blackwater (Concept/Susu) One of the techno anthems of the year, this record has been absolutely played to death at Space. DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter – So Much Love To Give (Together) (Roule) This vocal pomp house beast with only 30 presses ever made has been relentlessly plugged by those top jocks who possess a copy and become a most wanted piece of vinyl. Tim Deluxe – It Just Won’t Do (Underwater) This massive filtered trumpet-fest has already stood the test of time retaining its place on playlists throughout the summer season. Cosmos – Take Me With You (P Records) Featuring vocals from ‘I’m A Cuddly Toy’ Roachford, this tune is undoubtedly the electro anthem of the year and has been praised by the likes of Sasha. Oo-er. Who da Funk Feat. Jessica Eve – Shiny Disco Balls (Subusa/Cream) This year’s most mindlessly catchy but strangely irresistible Ibiza tune, encouraging formation dance moves at Pacha and broad smiles everywhere else. And there you have it. The awards take place on 15th October Po Na Na in west London and it definitely sounds like a date for the diary. |
