JOHAN GIELEN'S UPLIFTING TRANCE MUSIC GOES WORLDWIDE Amsterdam, July 12 2004 - Johan Gielen is one of the hottest names in Trance music today; last year being voted number 24 in the DJ Mag Top 100. The Dutch DJ moves all over the globe this summer, from some of the biggest clubs to the greatest festivals. He is alsoan accomplished producer and is working on his own new album (Johan Gielen FOR YOU) coming up later this year.
USA & Canada Johan Gielen succesfully played at two Spundea vs Godskitchen nights; June 18 in The Docks - Toronto (Canada) and the 19th in Circus - Los Angeles (USA). Especially club Circus in LA is the best for an intimate atmosphere while still having over 2000 people inside. Gielen loves to play in America and Canada because of the fresh scene over there, with great production, atmospherics, lighting and dance crews. But America and Canada love Gielen too! Therefore he will be back this week at Tantra in Calagary (July 15), Sonar in Vancouver (July 16), and the day after (July 17) he does another Spundea at Godskitchen set in club Vision, Chicago. July 24 you can find Gielen in Canada again, because of the WEMF 2004 outdoor festival in Toronto. Spain-tour, Malaysia & The Netherlands After that he will be playing at the Spanish Costa Brava for a week-and-a-half, featuring a special 'Johan Gielen FOR YOU' night at the Pasha in Salou the first of August. The day before (July 31), he pays a visit to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to perform at a special outdoor event at the hill-resort of Genting Highlands. He will be back in time on August 7 in the Netherlands to perform main-stage at Dance Valley near Amsterdam. The succes of Johan Gielen Johan Gielen was born in the Flemish city of Mol, Belgium. His DJ career started in discotheque El Sombrero in Reusel, a city in the South of the Netherlands. Nowadays he is a really successful DJ in the trance genre. He was voted #24 in the Top 100 DJ’s Poll 2003, the result of voting dance fans from 120 different countries. The album Beauty of Silence is a big international hit and so is every project together with Svenson (Sven Maes). The best known hit is Pacific Melody, released under the alias Airscape. Johan Gielen is also behind several remixes, a.o. Silence (Delerium) and Lethal Industry (Tiësto). Especially in Japan Gielen found inspiration for his successful tracks, beacuse he was resident for two years at Velferre in Tokyo.
