In you study the history of homosexuality, it didn't appear with the last few years as a phenomenon. It's been around since time and memorial. As far back as Greek societies, there was cultural acceptance that women were for procreation and men were for pleasure, and would engage in ritualistic orgies of the nature.
And not all films by gays are about gay topics I'm sure. Just like every film by a Jewish director isn't about the holocaust, however from time to time there is one, and they're usually entertaining and informative.

I hope you're referring to Euro-boy with the "bad name" comment. And yah, thanks for the history lesson but I'm well aware... I don't think you actually understood my point because really this is about homosexuality in
our society, not ancient civilization - which is of little relevence to the Queer film festival. My point is that if these film makers really do make good films that aren't about gay topics (or even they are), then what the hell is the need for a specifically "queer" film festival... why segragate? They continue to put up walls instead of breaking them down... this doesn't create acceptance, it reinforces stereotypes and much like the idea of affirmative action it is counterproductive to
actual equality.
