DA+Kelo+Lyster=...
Hello FnK. We are Exhale Entertainment. We are a team of individuals who have been involved in the scene throwing and supporting parties over the years. You’ll find us at the bar, in the head shops, behind the decks and more often than not, on the floor gyrating in some way or another. We have recently come together to start offering a little different joint to those who would like to join us. Before we get into that though, introductions are in order. These are the folks behind Exhale Entertainment:
Mikey Dubuc and Mike Begg - DA Productions Mikey and Mike began getting involved three and a half years ago working for a few production companies of old, including Adrenaline, Static and Alien Luv Child. DA started off as a group of ravers who thoroughly enjoyed, and still enjoy, having a great time. After awhile the boys decided to do something on their own. They took their knowledge gained from previous experience, combined it with energy of DA, and so was born DA Productions. Starting off with Chronic Birthday Bash, held in a good friend’s barn just over two years ago, these two have consistently thrown down a great time for all involved. Their other credits include Fully Legal, History of Breaks, HOB Lesson 202, RhyNation make-up party, Edit DA Breaks, Bounty Breaks, Capital Punishment, 2 Legit 2 Quit (boat party), 80’s Boat Party, Oh Funky and 2 Funky. Can’t forget the DA house parties either. Pantsless slip ‘n slide anyone?? Steven and Christina - Kelo Entertainment Using his experience working for promotion companies all over the Western US, he has quickly become a well-known name in the rave scene as well as on the Pot Block His party credits include the Rhythm Nation make-up party, Capital Punishment, 420 Boat Cruise, Cannabis Day Boat Cruise, Unite and Free. Dave and Ryan Lyster – Get Off My Lawn Productions The Lyster boys, originally from Calgary, have no lack of killer shindigs under their belts. Dave kicked things off with the legendary Class Skating Party at Lloyd’s Rollercade in Spring 1992. He kept things rolling after that, starting with Spin the Bottle 1-6, moving on to How Much Booze Can You Steal From Your Parents 1-15, and finally with the help of Ryan, Toga 1-3. After moving to the Lower Mainland, the brothers have continued on with the Why Haven’t We Been Arrested Yet series, end-date unknown. They have also been involved with both DA and Kelo, helping out at a number of their gigs. The year 1999 was the year that Ryan discovered turntables. Coincidentally the same year, we partied like it was, 1999. After spending a few years honing his skills, he first played out at Chronic Birthday Bash. Since then, working along with DA, Ryan Ross has continually added new elements to his show. Using trumpet, turntablism and the DJM 600 he has been consistently wowing crowds around every bend. So now that you know who we are, here’s what we are about. We have come together with the idea of offering an alternative to the 19+ crowd. Over the next five months we will be throwing four different shows in the basement of the New Amsterdam CafĂ©. We will offer everything, in our eyes, that is considered to be good music. We’ll leave that definition to the nights themselves. We are also of the notion that in order for what we love to thrive in this city, we need to lighten the fuck up. Bickering, slander and the like is petty and accomplishes nothing good. Respecting someone else’s efforts, as long as they are ethical and safe themselves can go a very long way. Hope that makes sense to everybody. It will be very seldom that we will use fnk.ca as a medium for promoting or discussing our shows. To eliminate any confusion no one other than those mentioned above will represent anything to do with Exhale Entertainment. Statements, opinions or otherwise. If you wish to contact us fire off an email to [email protected]. Cheers Last edited by Exhale Ent.; Apr 17, 06 at 05:02 PM. |
