Given a trans am won't set you back nearly as much money you can't even nearly compare it with an M5.

The M5's new V10 is not exactly the racing engine, but it does a pretty good impression. From a 5.0-litre displacement, the dual overhead cam, variable-valve timed, multi-valve engine makes 383 lbs.ft of torque (peaking at 6,100 rpm) and generates 507 hp at 7,750 rpm (just 500 rpm shy of the red line). It pushes the car to 100 km/h in under five seconds, and 200 in about 15.

All of that with the right technology so you can actually use that much power and not just look like an idiot spining your tires.

um, american muscle is 30 year old technology.

give me an efficient engine any day.

oh and big gains? um, skylines routinely have 600-1000hp in japan with common mods. with some silly thing called awd. but american companies wouldn't know what that was unless a competitor built a car with it and spanked them. so i guess they do know what it is.
