Sonar Fridays Gone?
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere (I did browse for it..) but does anyone know why Vivid is going away? Sonar Fridays have been my favorite club night for a good while now and it's a shame to see it gone. It's almost always packed and good times, why is it closing down? Don't tell me they aren't making money with shows constantly selling out...?
What are the alternatives, once this is gone? |

well..
bigger and better things is the best answer one can give you, without saying to much.
alot of internal issues as well that led to the decision. I think the club is actually taking over the night, all hiphop and breakbeats, no house, no prog, but i'm not sure... they are getting the 20hz boys to be residents. Good luck and I hope they have as good as run as Vivid Fridays did there. Cheers, Kyle |

Vivid is over at Sonar Friday March 4
PH1 is not involved in any events at the club after that. Our next event is Saturday March 12 @ Tokyo Lounge Featuring: Jimmy Van M There will be a full announcement about this later this week, but the main factors are this: - the club is looking for larger acohol sales - lower support of the smaller shows by crowds - and the changing of the scene towards a direction we don't particularly like (less personal, more commercial, higher prices) The new Fridays at Sonar will be run by the club using several dj's... so not sure what to expect, but it will not respresent Vivid As for the comment of running out of talent, Vivid Fridays has presented more local and international talent then any other night in Vancouver history and also in several genres and including live pa, turntablism, 4 decks, vocalists and more. ... we will probably start a new night in the coming months, but one thing at a time Quote:
