So anyways, "Baraka" is playing back to back with another film called "Microcosmos" for only $7.00 (the price for seeing one show).

^good point.Having said that I think I would probably consider it a documentary shown through audio/visual art then because I still think it can fall under the documentary category aswell. :)
I haven't seen "Microcosmos" yet but I hear it is a beautiful film and I can't wait to see it tomorrow! |

^ it's meant to be seen in the theatres - amazing. Ron Fricke basically lugged a 50mm camera into 6 continents and like 50+ countries filming footage for a year and spliced it together to an amazing soundtrack.
it's basically about nothing... and everything. amazing... |

2 Thumbs UP
I rented Baraka about a year ago -- it is a truly profound work of art! I am sure everyone will be touched in their own ways after watching this film. There really doesn't need to be a script/words because the brillant photos tells a story in itself and each person will interpret its meaning differently. The best part is that you will walk away from this film with new perspectives and appreciation. It certainly has opened my eyes!
Thanks for the notice. |
