I worked at the
Nl'akapxm Eagle Motorplex (pronounced "n-cap-um" or "n-clap-cap-um") from 1988 to 2004. My dad, Robert Ranta, was a racer for a while and eventually the starter. It was basically just me in the tower and my dad at the line. It's a full quarter mile, won Most Improved Track three times, and Track Of The Year once. If I'm not mistaken, this weekend is the Graffiti Days race. It's probably my fave. Only vintage cars can race, there's a huge town barbeque, and some people dress fifties. If you only go to one event, this is the one. I haven't been back in a couple years now, though. Mission really hurt our track, but my dad still helped sort them out anyway.
