Seriously, I hear ravers bitch after like every party about the lineup situation. And now we have one bitching that he wasn't searched? Come on! People coming into raves who aren't total idiots come in expecting to be searched so they are not going to have any drugs/booze/weapons just out where security can find them, they are usually pretty confined at that point. Anyone who is stupid enough to have anything like drugs or booze easy to find deserves to have it taken away :P
I saw people bringing tents that were not searched.
Personally I don't give two shits about drugs or booze being brough inside because no matter how good security is, it always manages to make it past them.

Weapons are a whole new ballgame. Im standing out in the middle of butt fuck nowhere trying to have a good time with the MASS of people, the last thing I want to worry about is if someone elses bag didn't get searched and what kind of weapons he could be packing. A lot of people get WAY too fucked up and its scary knowing that somebody could be walking around piss drunk with a gun/knife/tazer/mase whatever.

So booooooo hooooooooo to the people who worked the lineup. Dont like it, HIRE more people to work the gates. HIRE MORE security and have them stand out in front of the gates telling people to back the fuck up, I dont see what the problem is.

On a side note, was there even security outside of the gates or were they just inside the gates somewhat searching people?

You talk like you know what you are talking about.....

I don't need to defend how I staffed my event, nor how it was handled by my security company to a snot nosed kid like you.

Firstly, the reason the line up was the way it was, was due to the 1500 people that chose to line up at 5pm when there were no staff there, and I have never had a reason to have my door staffed before 7. By the time the staff did get there, the line had easily mushroomed to over 2000 people. Chaos was already in effect, nothing that we could have known or predicted. We tried to correct the issue, and when that didn't happen, we dealt with it accordingly.

Secondly, when the hell have you ever heard of weapons at Apex?! You seem to have some inside track to information that I am unaware of. Are you trying to backpeddle cause you look like an absolute pud, or do you know something I don't?

Lastly, there were several guards inside and out all night. You were just probably one of the idiots that added to the problem by getting into the blob with everyone else in hopes you would get in quicker.

I could pull up a bundle of posts where you seem to be Apex's biggest cheerleader and now you are flim-flamming back to the hate on the party side. No wonder other promoters paid you off to shut you up.

ps - were you going to jump in and help all ripped on 3 caps? Nah, didn't think so.....

Just because you havent heard of weapons at Apex and havent had to deal with people who have brought them DOESNT mean they arent inside.

Also, no I wasnt one of the idiots adding to any line chaos. I waited my turn in line and was respectful to everyone else in line just like I always am.

Lastly, NO promoter has paid me to shutup. If you dont believe me ask ANYbody from Evolve. Whatever thats beside the point.

You are right, just because I haven't heard of them, doesn't mean they don't exist. The same could happen if the people were being thoroughly searched.

Since you have annointed your self "Lord of Rave that Knows All", please enlighten me on how I should stop the thugs that crotch their contraband? Cause if you have thought of something that the RCMP have not, I am sure they would love to know.

Once again, the decision not to search was made collectively by myself, the head of the RCMP that was present and the Head of Security. It wasn't a decision I came to lightly.

I never said which company paid you off.....I just said I knew one did.

You have some valid points there.
How you AND THE RCMP can prevent 'thugs' and their contraband.

METAL DETECTORS!

Now could you please enlighten me as to what company/promoter paid me off? I sure as hell would like to know since you know one that did and I dont.

apex...bring a backpack with a change of clothes, flashlight,tp,warm hoody, chapstick, tylonal just incase of a headache in the morning or sorness=)..if u have a car or a tent, blanket and pillows. remember dont over do it and bring tones of stuff cause when ur all tired and sleepy u have to carry it all back. and u have to keep track of everything all night...my stuff got stolen right out of my tent two years ago at an out door party...everything i owned...except my video camera. and my cell cause that was in the car.

hoped this helped....from an old schooler to a new;)

Wow what a vicious thread!

If I was a promoter I'd accept general discourse and constructive criticism;
as for the rest, that's what the ignore list is for.

Lord of Rave that knows all AND Lord of the Search.
Holy shit, two titles in one day.
I can die now, my dream has come true.

ps. I have said more then my .2 cents worth. Let's just be safe, party hard and have some fun!

I'm sure it's the highlight of your whole rave career, it's all down hill from here dude.

In reality, if the threat of violence really worries you that much there's only one guaranteed way to be safe. Hang out at the house stage all night, cause seriously who in they're right mind is gonna start shit while listening to house.

Nobody! that's who.

Wow, I am unsure when Apex became a party that needed metal detectors....or any party for that matter....

I went to the Snoop Dog concert and they didn't have metal detectors...

Nice try though.

In the 10 years of Apex, there has never been any incidents of violence. Nor have any of the parties that I have promoted.

The person who seems to think he needs to post about these things is trying to prove a point, and is doing it badly.
