starting your career
it's kind of overwhelming when you finish off school and you're thrown out to find a job.
i've applied at 2 jobs, and they've both offered to hire me on. i've got to figure out which job i want to take by the end of the day. they're both really reputable companies, just one is union and the other is non union. geesh i never thought i'd be in this sort of situation. it's funny, one of the employers said they'd start me in holt renfrew dt. very convenient and maybe there's a clothes discount, every girls dream to work at holts 5 mins from home ;) ahhhhhhhh |

Congratulations Kelly, so happy to hear of your success.
Overall I would probly sugest the union job. You would get benifets and better job security and have better rights. However the only down fall is it probly goes by sinority... and youll be a the bottom too start with. Where as a non union job they usualy fire the bad ppl so you have more hope if your really skilled. |

you work for lily, right?
i'm not to sure how much my union dues will be, 'but i'm definately willing to pay them. all my 'dream' jobs are union jobs, so this is my first step to getting closer to them. bridge is supposedly the most comparable in benefits and pay to the union, but i found out that they only pay 50% of medical/dental. that's mediocre to say the least. i start tomorrow i can't wait! |
