my mother is raising me to be a girl
ok normally i wouldnt post this on a forum but i have to get this off my chest.
my mother is raising me to be a girl, she treats me like i am a 8 year old girl when i am 16. when my father was around he bought me shit to make me happy even tho they divorced when i was 1, but thats over. so when my uncle came to live in my house for 2 years when i was living in prince rupert (he got arrested out on bail) he was raising me to be a man, i just realized this from watching boyz in the hood because my uncle made me fukin wash dishes clean my bathroom wash the dawg mow the lawn even though all he did was cook but now when he went to jail we moved down here to vancouver and when school started my mom started treating me like a girl " oh i cant take you to the barber cus were not drivin that way" "oh your not allowed to go to fright night" "oh you cant ride the bus to school" "you cant go to your friends house" she treats me like my 8 year old sister. and now she jacked my xbox for fuckin failing french when i cant even speak french!..this is some bullshit! i need to vent Last edited by TrapStar; Oct 20, 06 at 05:52 PM. |

Haha this isnt the best advice at all.. but when my parents tried to control my every move I acted out and did what I wanted and when they tried to punish me I did what I wanted some more.. eventually it came to me moving out for a week only to have them beg me to come back. Now everything is great on the home front haha.. but like I said its not the best idea.. at all

I think parents just overreact and overprotect because to them their 16yrold seems completely incapable of doing anything. This is well justified when you think about the kinds of things we did when we were that age. Drugs, partying, wrecking things, bad grades, skipping school.
To us we thought they were being unreasonable because we "knew it all" didn't we? We thought we could experiment and do whatever. Now looking back if i knew my son was going to raves, eating mushrooms and running through the woods, mixing drugs and alcohol etc etc I'd be pretty damn worried too. I'm not saying you are doing those things but maybe if you show them you can be responsible then they might let up on you. Work hard at something. Get a job, get good grades etc. Have an open dialogue with them. |

Wow, excellent advice. ^^^
Don't worry man, just be kool and when you turn 18, move out. Really, it's your life, so no advice is going to matter, but your moms your mom. She's going to be there when your 16, 26, 36 ,46,... I understand how you feel, you want to party, probably hate going to school, realize that the whole system is bullshit. But really, French is a fuckin easy subject, I mean its structure is nearly the same as English and someday you might meet a French girl, haha... You obviously have a computer, so play PC games until you get your Xbox back. I'm sure your mom feels bad about taking it away or not, who cares. Its a video game console, read a book. Summing it up, your mom's your mom, your 16 and it a time in your life when you can really fuck it up. I knew this 16 year old girl, she was drinking everyday, she was cutey too. Then a year later, man that chick was so fat and nasty. My example, I was 16 hanging out with car thieves and drug addicts. They want me to sniff glue, fuck that, be glad you mom's there to help you know right from wrong. |

It's called parenting. It sounds like your uncle gave you more freedom, but only with lots of responsibily (chores etc.) Be ready to earn that freedom with your mom especially since you're starting anew. If you act responsible and mature, and talk to her about it, I don't see any reason why she wouldn't grant you more freedom. Either way you've got to deal with it or move out, and moving out at 16 is pretty hard.

Trapstar, a few words of advice.. 1) you live in British Columbia.. do you have any idea how GOOD we have it here? You could be living in communist china. 2) FNK is full of idiots, so don't expect much constructive criticism. You just have to pick out the positive idiots and the negative idiots.. but in the end, everyone here is an idiot. Myself included. 3) if you love someone, kick them in the nuts. If they don't send you to the hospital, then they love you. In which case, remind them to set you free. You'll come back... you're only 16 and you city folk tend to live with your parents until you're 30ish anyways. |
