taking risks.....

why does taking a risk and jumping into a relationship end up with so much pain in the end? why can't a relationship just be all good throughout the whole thing?
a friend and i were talking about this and we know we'll get hurt when you're in a relationship but we just can't figure out why that is? its like is comes with the package you know?
just wanted to know your intake on this.....risks just hurt in the end......

Risk versus rewards. I think its worth it in the end to commit to someone and hope to fall in love with him/her. Love can be the greatest feeling in the world but love can't be really pain in ass when it turns to hurt. I should know, I felt both ends of the spectrum just recently. You live and you learn. Every risk you take always comes with some type of negative consequence if doesn't go your way.

its ust like when you ask a friend out.. you got 2 answers but both good things and bad things come from both..

if they say yes - you get a relationship that you know well so you know you have stuff incommon and wut not.. but alsoifyou break up you can lose the friendship.. and perhaps friends...

if they say no - you can keep the friendship, but you never got to really act on your feelings..

i know that everyone takes risks in everything they do and things might not come out the way you want it.....just WHY though? feeling hurt isnt the greatest of course...then why do we all go through it?
its awesome when you fall in love but like what phatisphat said, it hurts when love turns bad.....cant love just be good all the way around?

i guess it just boggles my mind why we all jump into a relationship and you know that there is a chance that someone will get hurt.....i always have that feeling that i might get hurt.....i try not to always think like that jen but you need to prepare yourself for the worse sometimes....

Sorry but I have to disagree with ya linds..

I find to get a lil' you have to give a lil...

even if you found the one.. cause you go through your rough times too!c'mon.. look at your parents.. sure they love each other but theres still hurt in there because they have to be committed to everything and they may have given up things that meant the world to them.

Geesh, I have a friends that was willing to give up the one thing that meant the world to her to get her love back.. and she is still willing to this day and is working on her love with the guy.. and of course she is gonna hurt if she gives up her fav hobby for her love.. so yeha..

^I truely do not belive that is possible.. cause ppl can find they're love while already being in a relationship(like that love at first sight thing) and they will leave the person that they're already with for that person.. and the person that they are orginaly with... will get hurt!

Because when you're in a relationship your feelings for the person usually develops deeper than the form they came in originally in the beginning? I mean if you dated someone you didn't like, would you end up getting hurt? Probably not because they're Joe Fuckin Nobody! Why would you care about them enough to get hurt?! And with an increase in emotional attachment comes pain when it goes from that to emotional DEttachment. You spend so much time with them, you become familar with them, your lives intertwine and overlapse that it almost becomes one.... when a relationship ends, you feel empty because you have all this time that you used to spend with them free, and you feel unsure as to what you should do with all this excess time. You begin to try to fill that void of space with things to do, new activities, friends... but deep down inside you feel that it's inadequate to the time you used to spend with the other person. Then you get depressed. Then you start believing that love is pain, and love requires misery, and that's where you are, sickly in love with someone you can't have or have anymore all because you made the risk and got into the relationship.

I've rambled enough... I guess it all boils down to the fact that you shouldn't go in expecting anything and just enjoy yourself.

I'm a hypocrite though, but I'm getting better....
