^--- drugs aren't the answer for everyone, nor should they be.

They're just a quick fix, in the long run, you need to deal with your emotions and learn to live without being dependent on chemicals for happiness.

I totally agree and i wish didnt have to take them. buit sometimes not taking them is worse. It's hard being the person all your friends come to when they have a problem and having to deal with your own aswell. but taking drugs has sorta balanced thing as far as my problems don't seem too much and i know the difference between something bad ahppening and feeling depressed and i can cope better with bad stuff happening and i dont feel depressed.

Yeah I've noticed whenever I get stressed/tied down with stuff in one aspect of my life, other aspects start to suck too.. and I start feelin a lil depressed..

You know how that phrase goes... somethin about seeing the world through rose coloured glasses? It turns into the opposite of that I guess.

^^^ Seems kinda simple, I know.. but whatever :p

I think for the most part happiness all depends on perspective, and BALANCE in your life.

not really. that's like saying people with asthma have to learn how to cope with asthma attacks with out their inhalors.

depression is a sickness, a chemical imbalance. a lot of people do need medication to keep themself in check, just like any sickness.

but that's like saying all your feelings are simply based on neurotransmitters and brain chemistry. brain structure and chemistry may alter one's reactions to events, but experience in turn alters the brain, affecting reactions for other events. so sometimes, going to therapy and just having a very positive outlook on life can create positive experiences, in turn having a really big impact on depressed people.

depression is something that everyone goes through at some point in their life. it is the way that people deal with the depression that is what can make it serious. if you feel that it is affecting your life in the long run as it seems to be, perhaps it is time to talk to someone professional about it like your doctor or a counsellor or something. if it is more than just a few days of being 'in the dumps', it could mean that you have a real disease and should look at getting some help. good luck. remember - there are always brighter days ahead.

ps - i know where youre coming from...been there
