reiki anyone

Sup guys.

So I have to do a 15-20 min presentation for school
on Reiki... and just wondering if anyone knew anything about
it, or had some stories, or just anything they could tell me
to add to my info for my presentations.
Or any suggestions on how I could make it interesting?
30% of my mark goes towards creativity.

I didn't know much about it before this, so I'm just researching right
now, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to post something on here.
There's gotta be atleast one person that can give me a little
bit of information, or lead me to good sources.

i dont get it at all.. erin told them i have cancer... heh.

but if you go around commercial drive there this one girl around that always doin free trials on ppl and trying to make them goto an info session or something.

Yeah. That girl on commerical is interesting. It's an occasional thing... I think she's there once or twice a week for her UBC group or something.

In reality, it had about the same effect on my perception as this

I suppose it's one of the girls showing up at UBC in front of the SUB... Sometimes they get really pushy to get you to try it. I try to be nice turning down people but there's a limit and one 'No' ought to suffice it.

I've had Reiki treatments before and would compare the effects to deep tissue massage. just because Western medicine doesn't know how to explain why it works does not mean it doesn't work. if you had a treatment and didn't get a benefit than you need to see a better practitioner.

Mother's a Level 3 reiki master. I usually get a free treatment every time I visit her. Last time, she gave me a Level 1 attunement, so apparentely I'm now capable of doing it too.

I've never been able to understand HOW it works, I just know it does. My last session, I had a double treatment (meaning two reiki masters) work on my back, which had been causing me some problems at work. The next day, it felt like I had gone through a serious massage session.

Energy work is pretty cool. Hope to exchange some with any other reiki folk at Shambhala this year.
