romantic places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in Metro Vancouver
romantic places to have breakfast lunch and dinner
1) for breakfast and lunch that place on Granville, just past West 7th. 2) dinner in Crescent Beach, which is kinda pricey, tho if you wanna save money, try the coffee house across from the Bistro, cos there aint any way they'll charge you $20 for a grande of Americano. 3) any restaurant west of Arbutus on West 4th and any restaurant on Cornwall east of McDonald to Kits Point. 4) a weekend at Bowen Island, but reserve the two nights a week in advance. 5) another breakfast hotspot is the restaurant beside the day labourers place. it's one of the oldest restaurants in Surrey - I think Kalmar is older. Kalmar, near 80th Avenue, also serves breakfast, and is near a hotel, a donut shop and a Mac's. ABC restaurant is at 74th Avenue in the mall where Starbucks and Brewsters Pub is located. Yes, I am saying Surrey, and Newton in particular, can be romantic as long as you avoid McDonalds and the Wave Pool! There is another restaurant near the railroad tracks on 72nd Avenue that offers fine dining. Across from it is the Anastasia restaurant, and nearby is the pub. Another pub is in the strip mall beside Save-On Foods and Shoppers Drug Mart. 6) There are also a few restaurants in Langley in the one-way zone to enjoy fine dining. As well, the Willowbrook area has a few dandies. There is a Korean-run sushi place near the White Spot at WIllowbrook and Fraser Hwy, a block down 196th St at 60 Avenue. Down Fraser Hwy there is a Mexican restaurant, an Italian restaurant and two Greek restaurants as you head east. There also is a Japanese restaurant on 204 Street a couple doors down from the restaurant on the corner of Fraser Hwy and 204th. Across the street is a Chinese restaurant west of Glover Rd and the best fish and chip shop in Langley. Hotels in the area include Holiday Inn Express near 88th Ave and 204 St, Best Value Westward Inn on Fraser Hwy across from Willowbrook Mall, Hampton Inn on Langley Bypass, Coast Hotel at the casino, just off Glover Rd. |

It's called adaptibility.
samurai need to be adaptible to all situations, even without a sword. since the pen is mightier than the sword, then by exercising the mind you keep it sharp and the brain in working order. romance is a Japanese tradition. it was invented as respite after campaigns against Ainu and rival clans who didn't toe the line of "the emperor as divine". Today, Japan is one of the most expensive romantic getaways after Cancun, London, Paris, Role and anywhere they speak passable English. However, the best romantic getaways are the cheaper ones closer to home. I still have my eye on Bowen Island. I found the place that does not need a reservation, and it's close to eating places and music. However, that place is mine and mine alone, so I am not telling about it until I experience an overnighter there, hopefully with the girlfriend, say around date # 10. |

She's hooked. we're planning date #4 for saturday.
I think it might be difficult to get her to go to Brock House for the festivities there this Saturday, which I noticed when I was out trekking on the beach from MacDonald and Pt Grey Road to Collingwood and Pt Grey Rd. as part of my trek from MacDonald and Broadway to Jericho Beach. I walked west, and cross the street at one point, and then turned up to walk along one street because someone had the street booked on July 11-18 between 8 am and 6 pm!!! dude at the property with the tent had goa trance music playing!!!!!! Though I could try to convince her to drive us to Surrey Skytrain parking and follow the route I took via 316 to Scott Rd Exchange and catch either the 301 Richmond and take a connector to Broadway or the 341 to 22nd Station. Or just get on at Surrey Skytrain Station to Broadway, and get off at MacDonald. Last edited by jenai; Jul 10, 08 at 10:33 AM. Reason: The map shows me Bleinheim or Collingwood for the park I walked out of |

All the places described in the first post are so vague, the description and location.
He might of well just said, "You know that place by the water in White rock? You know the one with the patio? That serves drinks and appys?......Thats the spot to take a girl, definatly" straight up - WTF Last edited by Pussy*Kat; Jul 10, 08 at 09:47 AM. |

while i do concede that the Cambie Pub does serve great chips, i've never had fish & chips there yet. tho, true be told, when they serve sausages and mashed potatoes, they call it that instead of bangers and mash like in England. :edited: i know of a fish and chips shop in newton near the first place i lived while there at the mall at the northwest corner of 138 St and 72 Ave that also served mushie peas, which is hard to find anywhere else, even though they come in a can. a fish and chips shop, which is a restaurant serving fish and chips or related seafood, is run like a dry pub. it has a family atmosphere to it, which sometimes may not happen in a fancy Italian restaurant. and family means a lot to the both of us. i know my hood quite well, in contrast. the first restaurant in Whalley was not mentioned but the original owners were Ukrainian, and their son owns it now. The cook is South Asian, and the waitress (the older one in her 30s who i think is the owner's wife) is Ukrainian too. That family attends the Ukrainian church and goes to the Ukrainian hall at 108th Ave & 135a Street. It's kitty corner to the MoneyMart. Beside it was the old independent garage & gas station that folded due to the owner descending to the level of the homeless. I think at some point, the city shut it down for some sketchy business being carried on in it i.e. chop shop. North of there, the Surrey Vietnamese tong has bought up property and leased it to business people ranging from restauranteurs to grocers. |
