how do you deal with stress?
i live a fairly hectic life so im pretty much always stressed out because of dealing with the almost daily problems i encounter at school or work....i just interested in how you ravers deal with your stress, besides popping E.

I have a lot of stress in my life as well - mostly self made stress but non the less I deal with it in many ways - go for long walks, talk about what's bothering me with a select few who I trust and can usually make me feel some what better, write - either a list of things to get done so I feel things are in order and I can relax or just write about what's stressing me out, read, hang out with people who make me happy or at places that make happy/clear my mind (stanley park), hot baths with bubbles!, sex, and often my boyfriend gives me back and neck massages which usually helps to loosen my tense muscles.

mm sex. and yoga. not at the same time necessarily...
but definately yoga. or some deep meditation. It really works. Take's your mind off of everything and allows you to focus on relaxing. I actually have a course in school that I take that involves yoga and meditation (Linklater technique). It's great. |

i usually just take a couple minutes to talk to a close friend, just someone to listen and to relate to where you're coming from. it helps to know that you have someone there that cares about you.
also try doing something active, it helps take the stress and turn it into something you can work with, and leaves you feeling really good afterwards. just some suggestions that work for me. |

day to day stress is taken out on my records (lovin, all they get is lovin)
and emotional or personal issues require a good friend or my parents and I let off stream to them. it's totally needed! All you need is someone to agree with what you have to say or to give their take on your situation. |

Most young people schooling and working figure this isn't very important. I cannot stress how important this is for your sanity ... |

Playing the drums, guitar, or some other musical instrument. Skateboarding, snowboarding, biking, or maybe all of them. I don't drink to relieve stress.. it all hits me really hard when I drink so.. that's just plain stupid. Try getting a hobby, like reading, painting... or smashing stuff with a bat

stress...hmmm..
-rant about it with friends -go for long walks with my babies -find a secluded area and just SCREAM -watch movies that freak the shit outta me so i can't remember wut i was so stressed about in the first place -go to the gym -sing -eat popcorn -sleep |

i used to dance. but i can't dance anymore which is really hard for me because i used to dance anytime i could. it was a way for me to get out stress, a way to express myself, something to do when i was bored .. and no my back wont let me do it.
so im looking into getting into a music insturment or something similar. i also paint, draw, write, meditate ... i can't really do many full physical things ... it really bothers me and makes me upset and stressed ... its just a big circle. |

What I've done is......
First I eliminated the word stress for my Vocabulary and replaced it with Challenge I enjoy a good Challenge and when I overcome it its a feeling of acomplishment Accomplishment feels great! I think of life without Challenges and I think it would be very boring. A good example in my life, is promoting raves A lot of promoters get stressed out throwing them, I think of them as challenges. They Challenge me to meet goals of quality, performance and finance. At the moment I'm not promoting a rave (will be very soon), therefore that Challenge (what others think of as stress) is not in my life and to tell you the truth I'm hella bored! If you get out of the pattern of thinking that stress is an obstacle rather than the feul that keeps you striving for accomplishment/perfection then you will overcome the frustration you're feeling with everyday life. He took the stress from his traumatizing events and turned it into a challenge not letting obsticals get in his way.
