Things to say when *awkward silence* surfaces.
Ah, the lovley conversations of nothing but.
"So......hows the family"? or "Nice weather today eh?"... or even better, the one and only.. "Um...yeahh"....as you pick out something stupid to talk about in his/her car"... Life is filled with awkward silences, wether it be someone you first meet and you hang out with them alone for the very first time. Or that "friend of a friend"...who you just happened to be taking the same bus at the same time...thrilling. And what about the genuine Ex boyfriend or girlfriend.. Fun times. I was hoping some of you could suggest a topic or two to fill the "silences"..or even a *path of the mind* that one could stay on in order for him/her not to let the silence take controll. post away :p |

breaking the ackward silence is the sole reason i was put onto this earth.
feel free to take notes: "so i was jerkin off in the shower this morning..." "so i had BOTH my thumbs up this chicks ass one time and i says to Maybell i says..." "nice shoes" "fucking teenagers" "you do realize organized sports are just a way to keep attention away from issues in society, right?" and such and such... |

augh i hate those kinda conversations....that's one of the reasons i could never handle an office job, everyday would be filled with stupid repetitive conversations with aquaintances
i still get it at work tho, i just try to avoid eye contact so they won't start a conversation and if it's a nobody i'll just ignore them...that's what i do with ravers i don't wanna associate with, ignore em the one that really gets to me is the 'how are you doing?' i'll always say i'm doing 'fine', cause i'm not going to say i'm doing 'shitty' cause it'll just lead into 'what's wrong?' which is really none of their business and they really don't care anyways! either way, after i respond with the 'i'm doing fine' you're kinda forced into reciprocating and asking them how they're doing...but really i DON"T CARE how someone i don't know is doing, because like me, i'm sure they're doing "fine" on my bad days i cut the conversation short and just carry on after i reply, but if i'm having a good day i'll play along with this very predictable, repetitive game and ask how they're doing but if you're not already aware of this, i'm very socially retarded...i don't hate you, or mean to be rude, i just hate wasting my time on people i don't and probably won't get to know! the gym, fnk gatherings, family functions, work, aquaintances...i hate it all |

ps. i'm only refering to people i don't know
there really shouldn't be akward silences with someone you're friends with, there's probably something wrong with the relationship if things get akward even with an ex or something, you know them well enough to have gone out with them so it shouldn't be akward and if there's nothing to say, i'd definitely be comfortable enough to walk away...even if you were to walk in on him and another girl :soak: heh ahhh my social skills are grrrreat! |

ive used "do you want a cookie" as both a silence breaker and pick up line...it made nooo fucking sense but hey it worked also another one that isnt a silence breaker but a comment to a straight to the action line is if some chick says..."your cute", you simple reply (while reaching for your zipper) "you wanna see something else thats cute?" :kam: ive never done it but i would love to see how itd go one day... :PartEkid: |
