Stress!!

Between working full time/overtime to churn out another 200 tax returns this month... looking for a new place to live as of May 1st... packing all my crap up and uber cleaning the apartment... self-paced Math 11 & 12 that I've just started n need to finish by May 3rd... general life shit (i.e. laundry, groceries, cleaning) I'm just a teeeeeeny tiny bit stressed out this month.

Right now I'm going with a "suck it up n deal" mind set and knowing me I'll collapse at the end of the month and end up drinking myself stupid for a few days.

So my question for you all... what's your best way to de-stress? Baths don't seem to cut it for me anymore and I'm not the exercise type so going running is not really an option.

*slumps down in her office chair*

I can't wait til this month is over.

I have serious stress problems as well.

The #1 thing I can suggest is making sure you get enough sleep. This is actually really difficult when you're stressed out, and I dont like chemical sleep aids, but I find St. John's wort actually works wonders.

The other thing is forcing yourself to take time away from the things that are stressing you out, and absolutely NOT thinking about them while you're doing said 'fun' activities. Again, this is really hard because stressful things are usually stressful because they are urgent, and their nature usually makes taking time away from them seem impossible. But its super key to do this. Seeing your freinds, having a couple drinks, doing somethig like yoga (actually, that one is particularly good because it makes you focus just on your body, and just on the moment) all help your frame of mind for sure.

There's unfortunately no magic solution, as I well know (I'm often a huge basket of nerves and I complain a fuck of a lot) but you gotta do all the little things you can!

I don't smoke pot anymore... it sketchs me out. That and it makes me feel fucking STOOPID which is a bad thing to feel when you got school work to do.

As for the beach Mr. Soma-pants... I tried to get there this weekend but things came up. I want to do homework on the beach n eat gelato. MmMmMm gelato.

Apparently, sex is the best stress reliever (or at least a self-inflicted orgasm if a partner isn't readily available).

Total apathy is the solution! I haven't cared about anything for a long, long time.

If I didn't care about things (i.e. my schooling, my life, the boy, my well being, my housing situation) I'd never accomplish anything. I've done enough non-accomplishing bullshit in my life.

Might i suggest a little retail therapy? Shopping is my ultimate de-stresser. That and running till i pass out.
