The older fnkers lived in a diff. era than the young fnkers. Everyone look back in their years books to what you were wearing in gr 8. Now look at what 8th graders are wearing now. Social/cultural influence... We didnt have britney spears and christina agulara flaunting themselves on tv. Hiphip music videos back in the day didnt have girls in scanty bikinis for the entire thing. Some did, most didnt. I was downtown last year and I saw 2 girls in miniskirts.. the problem... I think they were 10 years old max. What the fuck is up with that? What are parents thinkin nowadays. If i had kids dressed like that, I'd be like put some clothes on eh? Back when i was in grade 8 girls were wearing turtle necks and standard jeans n shit... My god look what they wear now. No wonder theres so many pedophiles running around. Everyone is always talking about bodies being ready. Does that really matter if you're not emotionaly ready for sex? Or mature enough to deal what comes w/ sex? I don't think a lot of 14 year olds know what they are getting into.

Its fucking true, you thought 90210 was bad well check out the OC. Have you see the movie thirteen??? The saddest thing ever, is it only spoke to the crazy/party/we drink and do drugs for fun people. My friend Dee and i were discussing this movie over tea the other night, and we decided that for all those people, like her and i who did drugs and went to rave the movie only made us want to get high again; and celebrate our rebellion. She thinks it spoke to the good people of this world, and made them never want to steer into that direction. Im not sure, but what im getting at is there are so many peoeple doing these things that a family has been created. Its cooler to fuck up then it is to suceed, and thats the saddest part. Raving was a trend, so people followed..and now there are only so many left, but there were a lot of people who did it because it was new and ...IM GETTING OFF TOPIC. I havnt watched either... Lol I remember when i was a kid my mom wouldnt let me watch much music becuase of what was on there.. oh no.. not vanilla ice... Today has a new standard compared to what i was use to 10-15 years ago. I'm also surprised at how many people are in the "i've fucked more than 20" answer in the poll... Sure it matters, but fact is kids do it because they want to - kids do things - no matter how many time we tell them 'no' or 'its better to wait' lots still go ahead and do what they want

we fill them with it in our media and then we preach to them in school - ignore those cool lifestyles you see on screen you can be cool like your PE teacher if you just abstain from it all

of course they don't know what they are getting into, and some of them will proceed with caution and others will throw caution to the wind - thats where education and communication become so important, so a child can make an informed choice about what they want to do, but it is their choice, like it or no.

Talking to a lot of girls I knew when I was younger. They didn't have sex because they wanted to. They had sex because they were one of few left in their group of friends that hadn't had it yet. Now that sucks. Especialy when you forget to notice your friends are in a loving realstionship and you go for whatever guy comes a long first.

i don't know - i guess i have never been a 'virginity is sacred' kind of chick

to me getting rid of it was like getting a first period or first day of highschool, it was a right of passage

I lost mine at 17 to a "friend", and as Maryah phrased it, not pleasantly. But afterwards, I thought "Hey! The big step is over! I can fuck whoever and whenever I want now!" (I didn't though). The second guy I slept with was a guy I ended up with for 2 years.

You and your brother have been through a lot and i can understand the over-protection, he is your only sibbling. Im fairly certain my now turning 18 year old brother had sex when he was 16. Sex is what you make of it and I think it is absolutely wrong to automaticly link it with morality and emotion. It is so different things for different people. I have had partners that were so cought up in the whole "intimicy" of the act and how fucking "special" it was that they couldn't relax and truely enjoy the experience.

Well put. Personaly I usualy link emotion and morals with sex, but im not going to force or critasize others like a religion.

Studys have shown that in the last couple of years the western culture has been starting puberty much earlyer. I think if you tie in media, fashon and the latest trends... No surprise kids are having sex at a younger age these days.

I have said this before in other threads... It continue's to blow my mind at just how young kids are doing things today. Of this doesn't just include sex, but drinking, drugs, etc... They are starting sooooooooo young. IE: 12, 13, 14, etc.

I am still shocked when I hear of people at a certain age, doing what they are doing now. I recall when I did that same thing, but I was much older.
