Busting your ass...
...for a company for almost three years of your life, for shit pay, and then finding out almost a year later that you were NEVER appreciated in the fucking slightest is a REAL piss off.
I don't know if this is more punching bag or more heart-to-heart, and right now I don't care. I just neeeeeeeeeeeeeed to vent! |

how did you find that out?
That sucks. Where I'm currently at in my life I can't see myself getting a rewarding job... but I kind of suck it in with the hopes that where I will be in a few years from now will be significantly better than where I am now... |

If you are not being appriciated, look into finding a place where you will be respected the way you deserve to be. Don't let working for the man get you down miss, you are stronger than that. |

nat u know whats good for you and whats bad.. jobs are sometimes a little overrated. u have to hear me out on that statement, sometimes its not worth working at a job where ure busting ure ass and not getting any respect at all. i recently just quit my job for the exact reason and strangely everyone's been on my ass about "so found a new job yet?". even though im financially ok right now.. and my first priority is studying for school, which works out nicely, since now i actually have time to study.
ure a very well rounded gal and im sure u can find somewhere else that can treat you the right way, or maybe even consider talking to your boss and sort out the problems? im sure they would appreciate feedback. |

i can totally relate to you about this. i just recently got let go from my job last week (almost 2 weeks ago now) because honestly (and this is really what they said), because im such a ggreat person, i get my work done super fast without slack, because im always smiling and such a sweet girl to have around the office, and it has nothing to do with me but we have to let you go b/c we are too fucken lazy to train you, b/c our busy season is coming up and well... your doing a great job but we are jackass's so heres a check and sorry for this. like what is that bullshit? .... im sorry but i knew that job in and out, no i didn't have a degreee in being a Marketing Assistant but it was THEIR decision to promote me to that position in the first place, so at least do the job properly and train me properly if u think im not doing it right, which apparently i was. i just don't get it.... what i do get tho that the dumb bitch who was my boss, who i thot was a pretty cool chick (we got along outside of work, and at work pretty well.. had lots in common), we must have had some sort of personaltiy disfuction b/c thats the only thing i can think of. shes one of those ppl who have been with the company you know for 8 years of their life... so of course if she goes to the VP's and says something about me, who are they gunna favour? her of course... cuz if they piss her off shes the only one in the company who can be the Marketing Manager, so if she quits what would they do then? anyway... so i got booted even tho i did nothing wrong. fudge packers..

Just to clarify, this is a job I quit almost a year ago. Kel knows the deal - I know that all but a couple of them are bitches, but I never thought that they would be that way to ME since I always covered their asses, never tattled on ANY of them when they were late or their work habits weren't up to par - basically, I let them get away with everything I could w/out my manager finding out, and when she DID find out, I always took all the fall for it. You'd think that after ALL that, they would realize that the reason they hadn't been fired a looooooooong time before was that I fucking risked my neck to save their sorry asses, and I never got a single fucking thank-you for it. I'm glad, though. I'll never stay at a job I'm not appreciated at. At least at my current job, though boring and a shitty environment, I am appreciated by my co-workers, I am constantly getting positive feedback from customers, and I would never be in the situation where I would have to put my neck out for someone else, or be blamed for them screwing up because I was management. Oh, and btw, I got a second job, too! Fabutan, baby. Come see me Richmond tanning ladies <3 (KEL - THIS MEANS YOU!!!!!) |

Yeah that really sucks :(
If anything I loved about second cup was the ppl I worked with. Out of my hole year there we ever had one girl for 2 months who just made the place a rumer back stabing fest. Luckly she left on her own b4 the manager could ask her to leave... but of corse we soon got back to being there for evryone, writting nice notes in the communication book, and leaving treats of thank you for covering my ass in your till :) We never felt very appreciated by the company though :( Dont worry about it nat I think we all go through that un appreciated thought in some job... but looks like your light has come! Hope fabutan continues to be a great place to work for you! |

dont want to start a new thread so im just gonna vent here...
somewhat close to topic.. so i busted my ass at my last job and trust me...everyone saw it and just abused me for it. ex..why do highschoolers more priority for days off than me...i go to fulltime univeristy college.. we didn't get much say in our schedule, its pretty much up to the boss and since i was the "keener" i got more shift even though i told the boss i could only do 1-2 shifts a week. ANYWAYS..i quit the job and left everyone feeling really bad. harharhar.. it was a relief for me anyways. so its been like 3 weeks now and i keep checking my bank account and im not getting paid my last bits (vacation pay etc). show up at the retail hole today and talked to the fulltimer and for some odd reason i was still in the computer and i wasn't "let go" yet. arghz.. u would kinda think a resignation letter would mean "i quit".. but looks like i have to go back deal with the manager and set things straight that it wasn't a temporary quit. ya messed up.. i jsut want everything to clear off, so i can go fresh out into the working world again. |

^ Bev, they have SIX DAYS (not working days, just six days) to pay you your last cheque, vacation pay, and anything else you are owed.
Call your manager and tell him/her that if you don't see the $ in your account in two days, you're going to call labour relations. |

haha! Legally, they are not allowed to give you a bad reference! They are only supposed to tell future employers your strengths, not your weaknesses :P Maybe you should just call him and remind him, let him know that you're depending on the money. |

Hey Nat, I bet it would suck to find out you weren't appreciated after all you did, after all this time. Some people don't know a good person when they run into one. Good thing you're not with that job anymore. You've moved onto bigger and better things and they're the only ones suffering! I officially boycott your former workplace. Atleast that location. Booyah suckers! I can buy long jeans elsewhere! I support you, Natty - And if I didn't have so many minutes all over the place, I'd come see you at Fabutan. Hell, I might anyways! Take care girl :) And try not to sweat it too much anymore - Vent it out, and forget it. Done, done and done.
And Bev, good for you for getting out! Who needs it? Im sure before long you'll have another job, if you want one :) Ladies (and gents) don't put up with shit! You can get a job elsewhere and be appreciated. I think I have been truly blessed with jobs where I have been mutually appreciated and respected. |

that was actually extremely useful information for me to find out right now, Nat. I quit the restaurant I was working as a hostess at over 3 weeks ago and I still haven't seen my cheque or my due backs (tips which were supposed to get done every week and hadn't been done in over a month) I'm trying to resolve this without getting in touch of the labour relations board but I'm glad to see I've got some excellent options. -A. |
