interrogating significant others of siblings, cousins etc
does anyone else do this?
i must be the most obnoxious person ever as soon as there is a new boyfriend or girlfriend at family events i go out of my way to find out every single thing about them its very odd i do it out of love cuz i usually dont think they are good enough for my brother (or this time my cousin), i just wish i wouldnt if they make my relative happy, i should just leave it .....but i cant i suck |

i was asking this boy how much he made, what his driving record was like, what his relationships with his family were like and calling him by random names to see which one he would respond to........
granted the last one is just plain weird unless you think they may have a secret identity and be running from the law |

Hmmmmm... well with any new boyfriend/girlfriend or whatever, I think the family is entitled to do something of that nature. -- The newer person should kind of be expecting this when they come into the home. How much they are grilled probably depends on the culture.
With asking anyone questions to get to know them better, it's all about delivery. You can deliver these types of questions easily so they are not so intrusive. |

but i am INTRUSIVE!!!
i also asked him what his intensions were with my cousin, if he liked children, what his thoughts were on abortion, if he had ever cheated on a test to his credit - he never faultered or turned red - and then he started asking me abrasive questions |

I'm too chill to let things get me bothered. I have nothing to hide so I don't mind being asked questions but some of those questions are things that I'd have to say "no offense but I don't feel comfortable answering that question with you."
