my bird died.
shes been sick for 3 days, and i came home and she was on the bottom of her cage. her eyes were open and it really bothered me. she was suffering and i really wish we could have afforded to put her to sleep so her last three days were not hard painful ones.

Your poor little Gunther....he must have been a really cool bird. His name makes me love him. Awe...Gunther the little bird.....or big bird? All of my animals that died, I still have a stuffed animal that represents them. Well, not all of them. It's a cool way to remember the ones that you really loved;)

:( Sorry to hear about gunther's passing. What type of bird was he?
My family's a bird family too. We have five right now (4 budgies and 1 cockatiel), If they ever died I'd be insanely sad...not as sad as when our last one died...in my arms right after we took him to the vet to get a shot because he had caught pnuemonia. Those were sad times. RIP gunther |

gunther was a cockatile and was actually a girl - she had all the male markings, but one morning started laying eggs. no point in changing her name because she responded to it.
we're a bird family as well, we once took in 3 budgies that had been put through hell and back again in a highschool. they only lived for 3 years after we got them, and i was around all of them when they died, and held them. i just feel terrible because she hurt, and he had no contact with anything living when she died. i cant really remember not having a bird for more then 3 months at a time. i dont think we're getting a new one..... i'll miss the sound. my dog was dosile all day apparently, she knew it was happening. i've never been this sad about a bird, but this was the first one that i technically owned for the majority of its life. |
