so we have a family friend who's about 22 years old, socially awkward, not too bad looking, but she has trouble making friends and has never been on a date. she goes to my parent’s church and so we've been acquaintances for a few years. :)
anywho, before i met my gf my mom tried to hook us up but i wasn't having that. she's very friendly, just not my type. to be nice i almost considered taking her to grad, but didn’t.
so valentines is rolling around and the church makes some festivities out of it and we decided to send a Valentines to said girl, along with many others addressed to her (to neutralize mine), as an appreciative gesture, since she works with the kids all the time.
this afternoon I got my own hand delivered Valentines card that was in a wicker basket with all kinds of origami and chocolates and other handicrafts. it was actually quite elaborate, and was way out of proportion to my "have a happy holiday" card. She told me not to open the letter until later. In it she wrote that was glad that we were "special friends" and she always felt this way and recounted all the times we showed up to the same social functions
(picnics, potlucks, etc). she also invited me to her house to watch Finding Nemo.
so uhh… what’s the best way to get away from this?
Cliffs: gave out a valentine’s card and now I’m scurred.
