Uh no. Its not. If doing something that is "making your parents proud" Isnt making you happy..then why do it? So your mom was a lawyer and it would make her and the rest of your family SOOO proud.. but you want to be a ballet dancer.. what do you do? Live miserably always thinking about the what if's? Or tell your parents that its your life and they should be happy and proud of you no matter what. You should always follow your heard. =D

i'd say it totally depends on how much longer you plan on staying. i mean, what's another 3-6 months? whereas signing a contract for 3-6 years is of course just a bit different.

If u hate it that much over there I don't see any reason in staying. plus I think your family would be happy to see you not disapointed in you( i know your sister would ), dont you have a bf over here too??? maybe if you come back for a bit and get your shit together it won't be so bad...mind u i really have no idea what "your shit" might imply

i think if you are not happy with what you are doing, dont do it. no matter how much your family wants something for you, you have to do what makes you happy. im sure they will understand.

one of the top 3 best life lessons i have learned was to do what you love\are passionate about. ultimately your parents will always be proud of what you become, and im sure that although at first you might think they are sad about your decision, they will be more happy for you if they see you enjoying life. im pretty sure your parents dont want to see you being miserable\know that you are.
i always assume my mom is dissapointed in me for persuing what i want rather then what will pay well, because of the way she is to me about it, but she brags for hours to others about where i am. parents are weird like that.

grab the bull man, do what you want, do what you love. life is here to be passionate about, not to be just ok or dissappointed about.

luckily my family is never satisfied, I can always do better.

I see that as both a good and a bad thing.

If you're young, and you're really that unhappy, why settle? If you know you have the skills and the worth to take charge and go in a direction where you know you'll be happier, then go for it. True success can be measured by so many things, and your own happiness is one of them!

Yea, u are all right. I'm going to give myself another month here to see if things change. The winter months are always the worst, right? At the end of March, if i'm still not happy, I will give my notice. Thanks, for everyone's support. *hugz*
