Realizing how far you've come
Is pretty awesome.
I was just having a talk with my mom about how much progress I've made in my life in the last 2 years. It's such a good feeling to realize that your life is becoming what you've always wanted and everything seems to be falling in to place. It's so crazy to think that 2 years ago I was making close to minimum wage, I couldnt really afford to do anything, and I was pretty dependent on my mom. Now, I've got a career on the go, I'm starting my 3rd year of my BBA (got to skip 2 years because of my management experience), I'm in the process of starting my own business, and I'm so much more financially stable and responsible. Buying my own place in 6mos-1yr is going to be the icing on the cake! It's also really neat because my extended family was worried that I would never go back to school (yeah, right!) and now they're finally understanding my whole plan and are super excited for me. Hehe, success feels so good! |

Congrats on your success Natalie!
But here is some advice from the fortune cookie factory and personal experience: - Success can be blinding so always keep an open mind AND an open set of eyes. If you don't you might pass up oppourtinities that are critical to your growth. - Be humble in your advancements and achievements. No one likes a braggart and I have twice in my past lost serious positions due to not shutting my mouth. The easiest way to do this is remember where you came from, where you started from and then you'll never view others from a pedestal. - As cool as it is to have the financial ability to buy a place and things just remember that it is just "stuff". It is sad that society has made us view how successful one is by how much "stuff" we accumilate in life. If you can adjust the way you view life, the tests it throws your way and then clue in to what really does matter to you, in the end you'll be more "wealthy" than you can imagine. - Keep on reaching for your goals and dreams and don't let anyone say you can't. The people that do are just jealous of what you have achieved when they have not. - Dream big and think big. ANYTHING is possible as long as you believe this to be true. Your own mind is your biggest roadblock. Fortune cookie factory is now closed. :) I can't wait to see how you will have evolved in another 10 years. |

But seriously Winston, great advice. You really should write for a fortune cookie company. Or Hallmark. :) |

And Winston excelent advice! Definently made me think a little more about how I treat my job and looking at the bigger picture. |

and dont listen to winston's advice, its depressing. just remember this: the person who thinks he can do something and the person who thinks they cannot do somehting are probably right. |
