teaching pre-teen girls about puberty

a few things that made me chuckle:

"I don't know what puberty means"

"Do you get embarassed when you're buying tampons at the store?"

"I saw this boy with boobs!"

"how do you put a tampon up if you don't know what it looks like down there?"

"AHHH! the door isn't closed! a boy could have heard us talking about puberty!!"

"Are those yours?" (pointing to my display of feminie hygiene products)
Me: "Yes"
*GASP* "so that means you've got your period!!"

kinda refreshing to see that there's still some innocence out there...

whats sad is that they're all innocent about that but they probably still know more about drugs and sex then their own periods

actually, prior to the presentation, we got them to write their questions down anonymously and put it in a box.

the most common asked questions were "what is sex?" and "what does masturbation mean?"

the funniest question was "how old were you when you got your period? if you don't want to answer, that's ok".

LOL!
