i'm on my 3rd day now
my diet is not that difficult, and i already feel a big difference in myself i have a special shake in the morning and at noon to support my intestines and liver and stuff like that.. all throughout the day i can eat as many fruits and veggies as i like (organic) drink as much purified water as possible (min 8 glasses) then at night i get a little bit of rice and chicken (i think that should be a regular diet, doesn't seem like that much of a fast to me, but it's actually more of a detox thing then a fast i think) my mom said she was goign to do it so i decided to join her.. she does it more often.. so her diet is a little more strict.. she's limited fruits and veggies, but yeah it's hard, but not as hard as i thought it would be... especially considering i work in a deli with lots of delicious foods and amazing deserts.. lol |

well my mom's all into the being health kick thing for the past 6 years.. so by now she knows a lot about that kinda stuff.. she does it about twice a year.. she got it from Roots though.. (That natural store)

I did a 4 day fast a little while ago. It was good because at the time i was working at mcdonalds and essentially living off of it... I really needed to get that crap out of my system, I did it and i felt great afterwards. Good luck with yours!

as a muslim
every year i have to fast 30 days in a row (Ramadan), It might seem hard for most people. but I can do it because im used to it. but I know for you it must be hard. the advise i can offer is just dont do anythign that will induce hunger or thirst (if you cant drink). Rest a lot. |

That sounds really cool! I think your right that the diet it self isnt much of a fast especialy for a small female. My only worrie about it would be the lack of calcium. Otherwise I think fasting is great once in awhile. It cleans out your system and mentaly tests your self control. Although you risk getting sick because while the body is cleansing out the toxins... they get released back into your system and can make you sick. That happened to me when I first tried yoga. Intresting how the body works.

(p.s.) the shake that i have is chalk full of all the vitamins and minerals that you need.. i probably get more calcium on this diet then i do regularly, and if not then they suggest to eat some almonds or sunflower seeds. but i have to agree... i think my body is loving me. and i like it nabs- what does your diet consist of during the fast is it absolutely nothing except water or..? last year when my mom was doing the same thing we're doing now, i told one of my muslim friends that she was on a fast and i told him what she ate and he's like "so pretty much what your telling me is that you mom is NOT fasting" and thanks for all the positive feedback guys! |

^Its quality vs. quantaty
Healthy food give you better energy and stregthens your body. I find when I eat junk it not only has addictive chemicals in it, but also makes me tired and stuffed. I spend less and eat less with good food and it gives mebetter energy! |

People actually bug me at work because I eat 'too healthy'......... tho theres always that one day every month... where I jsut crave ice cream or somthing not so healthy. then I kick myself in the face for it later cuz I feel like ass after eating it. |
