if I can pass on any advise or trip from my travels....
keep a dairy or a log of each day you are on tour, if this is your first time traveling like this you will always regret not writing down your thoughts feelings or experiences while you are away. Then years later you can look at it and really feel good about what you have done with your self. Travel is the best education you can get and I'm so proud and stoked about what you have ahead of you. suck it up to the last drop! |

pack light so you can bring heaps back
take LOTS of pictures, esp of the ppl you meet not just scenery write down what youre taking pics of, so you dont forget journal, and save little things if you're gonna scrapbook don't book too much stuff to do in advance, just ask around when you arrive roll your clothes, so they don't wrinkle as bad keep you black stuff inside out to minimize lint bring mostly clothes that can go in the dryer, so that you don't hafta turn your room into a clothesline layer up on cold days to avoid having to actually bring a warm coat (bring a light one tho) if you buy cds, ditch the cases and just keep the disc and liner notes to save space |

essentials =
-camera (duh) -a journal...preferably with pockets so you can stuff souvenir-type stuff in there -comfy clothes & flipflops for all those flights -if you have a hard time sleeping on planes, an eyemask and earplugs too -go easy when packing clothes, you'll never wear everything you bring, plus you'll definitely want to buy stuff you see while you're there -photocopy all your important documents especially your passport and other ID, it will make your life a lot easier if god-forbid you ever lose it -if there's any personal/beauty products you can't live with out, make sure you bring them, you can't always find the same stuff overseas (I found ALL the deoderant in Australia absolutely disgusting...and my favorite mascara was 3 times the price!) that's all that came to mind right now, but I'll probably add more later... |

WOW that is absolutly steller! So young and you and kay are conquering on the other side of the world!
Not much to really sugest except just give her and represent. Personaly the only thing I really worrie about when I travel is paper work, vacnisations, and basic resurch so you have an idea of where your going and staying and what to do in any kind of emergancy situation. Check out www.lonelyplanet.com and search the citys/countrys yoru going to for some basic all round info. If you plan on doing alot of shopping then try to leave 1/2-1/3 of your pack empty. Besieds I notice a lot of permormers tend to have the same out fit during a tour... not like your going to been seen twice :p PS: key to packing is take away 50% of what you intend to pack out. Seriously you dont need that much and can always buy things on the way. Last edited by Ree Fresh; Jun 21, 06 at 07:30 PM. |

If you go into a caffé all blabbing in loud english and disrespecting local custom, of course they are going to think you are a ignorant westerner. A lot of people see Canada and the US as one and the same others think we are a "happy island in the north." Not island in the literal sense mind you. Also flags on clothing peg you as a traveller therefore inviting an onslaught of unwanted attention by street vendors. |

when i went to europe I had a canadian flag on my backpack - helped me out a lot and got me out of a lot of interesting situations ;)
have fun bri! most important advice there is!! and if you shop a lot its better to mail your stuff back to yourself via a courier so you dont have to lug it around your whole trip. |

ahh too bad you don´t play in Munich... I would love to see you play!!but all the way up to north germany is too far. oh well, next year hopefully! P.s: SInce you are so close to Holland, don´t hesitate and try to make it to Amsterdam or another city. Brussels in Belgium is a nice city... Berlin... and of course if you have some time left to travel, check italy out :o) Have fun !! P.S.: My piece of advice: Bring the universal plug with you ( I am sure you know all that stuff since you ve been to tallinn last year. 110V into 220V Last edited by MarcelM; Jun 25, 06 at 01:43 AM. |
