Jon Delirious - Calgary - Nordic Trax
With over 11 years behind the decks, Calgary's Jon Delerious continues to refine his skills as one of Canada's leading musical innovators. Having learned to play drums and guitar at a very early age, music has always been an essential part of Jon Marchuk, aka Delerious. Through his early beginnings spinning hip-hop to his global travels as a rising house music star, Jon has proven himself by the ecstatic response his DJ sets receive on the dancefloor. Musically, Jon has successfully leapt from DJ to producer with ease, as his tracks are now present in the crates of many of today's leading DJs.
Previous records such as Jon's debut 'Heads Down' Ep, brought International success and exposure, while gaining strong chart support from artists like Laurent Garnier, Johnny Fiasco, George T, Ali B, Gilles Peterson, Red Snapper, and Charles Webster to name a few. Impressively the cut "Orange Eyes" from this EP was licensed to Global Underground for Lee Burridge's 'Nubreed' CD as well. Over the last 2 years Jon has toured Europe twice, playing and recording tracks in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Holland and Slovenia. A highlight being the Gravity Festival in Montpelier, France, where he rocked out with NT label mates Gavin Froome and Luke McKeehan. Most recently Jon released the title track from his upcoming full length ‘No Warning' which received acclaim in such publications as XLR8R and play throughout the world, particularly charting strong in the US, UK, Canada, France and Germany.
His debut album, ‘No Warning', ranges with ease from smoked-out dubby house to top-notch dancefloor chuggers: a testament to his studio prowess and in-demand deejay schedule. With reviews upcoming in most dance press and an extensive North American tour beginning in February through to the summer, one can expect that you will be hearing a lot more about this talented DJ and producer in the future.
With Vespers and Christoph opening.
