I've got 27 bands on my list so far that I just NEED to see!! ;) Pretty much all ebm/industrial/darkwave/goth scene will be there... 20'000 peeps... Fri 25 May – Wave Gotik Treffen
okay, let's make this short... NVMPH good synths but overall not very enjoyale. distorted vocals are okay, sometimes they just sound BAD tho. "uhm, wait...is their sound system defunct or what?!" - a disappointment. Kosmic Horrör not my cup of tea. had a beer at the bar instead. Pzychobitch not a bad performance. well, it's not really my kind of music to be honest. but yes, I quite enjoyed it...so did the crowd. In Strict Confidence fucking brilliant. diverse, powerful, dense, atmospherical. just great. i was almost at the front and isc was the first wgt concert that blew me away. and much more was to come... fetish:mensch a new band for me. oswald henke, what a weird guy. a great gig. yay for stagediving and crowdsurfing! :P Elane only saw half of it due to changing stages and stuff. most lovable tho. fitted perfectly into the setting. a good set. The Retrosic yup, it sucked that agra was empty all friday just b/c of one band and many could not get in for other bands. that made no sense and i can understand the bad reviews. anyway, the retrosic was fantastic. danced my ass off. awesomeness! Dirk Bernemann yes, i went to a reading. and it was good. pretty thought-provoking and a challenge for my tired brain. i saw the innocence vomit...what a title! not sure the crowd appreciated it tho. well, i did. a welcome change, very refreshing. Orange Sector i don't really know why but for some reason i did not like it. left agra and grabbed a beer outside. fresh air, that was good. Rotersand second time i saw them live. i considered to skip rotersand after the disappointment last time, glad i did not. people were cheering, dancing, singing...one hell of a party in agra. and they played a new song from the upcoming album. fantastic!! Psyclon Nine h.o.l.y.c.r.a.p. siiiiiick, just sick sick sick. what a stage presence! and what a change after the anthem-like rotersand. massive guitars, even some headbanging. the keyboard went to pieces, one destroyed mic. and he dropped his pants, wtf. lunatic, insane, just what the fuck. hell yeah, loved it!!! Front 242 again, very different. another change. a very diverse set. dancefloor smashers, more experimental songs, slower tunes, faster ones...they can do it all. awesome encore with the kraftwerk cover. i really liked it! Preemptive Strike 0.1 sucked. very aggressive atmosphere. we left before the rioting. note to antifa: wearing suicide commando and feindflug t-shirts doesn't make someone nazi. at least next time beat up the right people, like those with swastikas and hitler salutes near the stage. or better just fuck off. we don't want you at wgt. Seabound really, really gooood. love frank's voice. very danceable. breath was amazing. one of the best performances of this years wgt! Conetik not really my thing. but the cocktail at the bar was tasty! Elegant Machinery oh wow, good stuff! unfortunately we had to leave. i didn't want to miss gredel, the band that got me into electro/ebm... Grendel yeah, it was good. but not mindlbowing. well i was a bit far of the stage. they opened with pax psychosis, my fav grendel song. zombie nation was great as well, a classic. unfortunately, no sleep I. but somehow...slightly disappointing. dunno. guess my expectations were too high. don't get me wrong tho. i did enjoy it and danced my butt off...wohoo! Narsilion a new band for me. lovely location, lovely people, lovely set. high-pitched almost opera-like singing, neoclassical / celtic / medieval instrumentation. totally worth it and good to give my body a rest. Dandelion Wine THE surprise of this year's wgt. pretty eclectic mix of medieval and middle eastern beats, guitars, flutes, percussions, keyboards, naomi's vocals and electronics...guess you could just call it trip-hop. the guitar breakouts reminded me of The Unknownn. can't say much more, but it was brilliant! Apoptose volkshaus = t3h awesome. WHAT a location...wow! felt like a gathering of some tribe/sect. spiced up with some multimedia stuff and massive drumming of fanfanrenzug leipzig. very nice!! overall impression? loved it! oh, 2 more: live sets of johan van roy and eskil/covenant both of them were great. i was surprised to hear Johnny Cash @ wgt...wow. well they called him man in black. so it makes sense, eh? that was awesome. see you next year leipzig! <3 Last edited by anewlife; Jun 01, 07 at 07:21 AM.
