Man we're getting stoked.. been talking to Syze today and she's getting very excited to play in victoria again!
Here's a little Info on her for those of you who missed her last time she was here DJ Syze began spinning in 1998, her inspiration coming from the Ultrasound Show on 107.7 FM with guest DJ Trace, starting her love for what listeners describe as her deep bass, techy drum loops and ass kicking samples - a somewhat on point description of her unique sound. DJ Syze has come a long way from the underground days of d&b. With the release of her CD “Stepping Razor Vol. 1” Minty Magazine reviewed it as: “Seattle's own DJ Syze serves up a crispy mix CD that eases you into the darker element of d&b. The title track produced by T.Z.A and Syze sets off the mix well and shows her deep understanding of the music she plays. She never loses sight of the emotional side of the music, making this CD, like her sets at local clubs and parties, a pleasure to listen to.” Currently working on “Stepping Razor Vol. 2”, Syze is more focused than ever on capturing the essence of d&b. Recently signed up as a DJ for Savier Skate Co., Drumz Spectra Media, Defcom recordings and a Polyrhythm Recordings artist, Syze definitely has her goal going in a positive direction. |

FORMULATE Justin Humber has never been a DJ. As soon as his interest in dance music was stirred enough that he had to be a creative party and not just a bystander, Justin decided to skip the vinyl habit, donned the moniker Formulate, and went straight to producing. Today, Justin runs Pacific Front Recordings with long-time cohort Davin Greenwell (aka AFK), a hot startup dedicated to putting out the best music from artists indigenous to North America's left side. In addition to his Pacific Front releases, Justin also has releases available on Proton Music. His productions have been charted and supported by many an international DJ, including G-Pal, Steve May, Shiloh, Luke Chable, Max Graham and Sasha. Whether it's dark, gorgeous, or banging, there is undoubtedly a certain something about a Formulate track that stands out. The ideas may change from song to song, but they're all driven by an unshakable love of all things that go bomp, click and nyerp in the night. The inspired, liberally synthetic Formulate sound does not simply fit into the progressive house genre, or any other genre, for that matter. Ask Smight, who will tell you, "you aren't quite sure what you're listening to, but you know full well that you enjoy what you hear." |
