8.18.04 - BARON (Breakbeat Kaos/Baron Inc/CIA) - UK , $7USD w/Drink Specials! 18+/21+
The The Catwalk Club in association with Tytan Studios is proud to present:
BARON DRUM + BASS // Breakbeat Kaos // Baron Inc // CIA ·· UK As one of the hottest up and coming UK producers and DJ's, Baron has made fast progress through the ranks of the worldwide drum and bass scene, his constant unrelentless supply of quality dance floor music and a DJ style to match have built him a large underground following. Cutting his teeth on his local Oxford scene he landed himself a residency at the legendary Source night and from there was weekly warming up for drum and bass' a-list where he got exposed some of the most up front and cutting drum and bass available. Baron began producing drum and bass in 2000 after being pushed hard to do so by long time friends and drum and bass legends Total Science, from the outset it was clear he wanted to take his own path and push what has no become his trademark sound. In a very short space of time Baron made a huge quantity of quality music and his 'See Me Burning' track was very quickly snapped up to feature on the first installment of Advanced recordings, Sektor, this release caused a lot of interest in his production and from then on was considered to be a name to watch. In the space of the next 12 months he began DJing extensively throughout the UK, Europe and USA was featured on amongst others CIA, Advanced, Renegade Hardware and TOV. Putting together 'Meet the Creeper' and 'Hellbilly' for CIA 013 a 12' was another stepping stone onto what would become his trademark sound. Things got ever busier in 2003, a year which saw him remix Nosher for Total Science, which became one of the anthems of the year and in turn a talking point for all of the drum and bass community. To cap that he then penned to of the biggest tunes of the summer in the 'Way It Was' and 'Redhead' which were instantly snapped up by Ed Rush and Optical for their legendary Virus imprint. A label with such strict A & R rules that they hadn’t released anything for a year previously. The same year Baron decided to introduce his own label 'Baron Incorporated' which hit dance floors, DJ's and record shop's alike with immense force, the that dance floor assault was the A-side 'Monkey See, Monkey Do' (with Total Science) another instantly recognizable dance floor destroyer and another entry into his ever growing discography. 2004 expects to be huge for Baron, with remix work lined up for Virus, Infrared, True Playaz, and CIA. You will see a Heavy showing on his own label' Baron Incorporated' as well as another Virus 12' and collaborations with Twisted Individual and DJ Friction. Expect Baron to climb higher up the ladder in 2004 and there is even talk of a Baron long player for the end of the year. With a now matured dance floor sound forged out of years of djing and attention to detail, baron has developed an ability to create his own sound and that in turn has made him a producer that is watched avidly, a quality which he has backed up with an understand of all avenues of djing.
