GABRIEL & DRESDEN Organized Nature | Nettwerk Records | Motorcycle | Andain | www.grabrielanddresden.com | San Francisco Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden - better known as Gabriel & Dresden - boast one of the most impressive resumes in contemporary dance music, with over half a dozen #1 Billboard Dance chart hits to their credit, including remixes for Annie Lennox ("Pavement Cracks"), Jewel ("Intuition"), Sarah McLachlan ("Fallen"), and "Me Against The Music" by Britney Spears featuring Madonna. They release their debut on Nettwerk, a 2-CD album titled 'Bloom', on September 7th. GRAYAREA Live! www.grayareamusic.com | Chicago Over the last three years, Grayarea have become recognized for their innovative original productions & remixes. During that time, their records have been showcased by everyone from John Digweed & Nick Warren to Paul Oakenfold & Tiesto. But their music is best heard in their world renowned live show, which blurs the line between electronics and traditional live instrumentation with a wall of sound, sweat, and energy that a traditional rock band would be hard pressed to match. LIQUID TODD Sirius Satellite Radio | www.liquidtodd.com | NYC Liquid Todd has been hosting and producing cutting edge radio shows for over a decade. His latest creation is the new ALTERED STATE show which airs Friday nights (1-3am) on 103.5 WKTU "The Beat of New York." ALTERED STATE can also be heard online, worldwide on www.ktu.com. First and foremost a fan of music - all music - Liquid Todd broke new ground by being the first to spin "electronica" on the commercial airwaves in Boston - first on 101.7 WFNX, then on 104.1 WBCN - then in New York on 92.3 K-Rock (WXRK). A longtime champion of dance and dj culture, Todd has created thousands of new groove-hungry fans from his radio show, mix cd releases and memorable live performances. EVA USC | Natural Progression | www.dj-eva.com | Seattle Eva’s legendary sets have won the hearts of many, and gained her a legion of fans in the process. Her expertise behind the decks have placed her alongside the world’s most famous names: Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, John Digweed, Felix Da Housecat and Benny Benassi, are just some of the giant list that reads like the who’s who of dance music. CHRONUS Dragon Entertainment | www.djchronus.com | Seattle Regarded as one of the Northwest's best progressive DJs, Chronus has rocked Seattle's most prolific clubs, opened for some of the biggest names in the industry, and extended his reach as far as Circus in Hollywood. Coined "Seattle's progressive prodigy" (by Hardscience Recordings) and acclaimed by MarQ, "Chronus is the prog master of Seattle, his top notch track selection, and rock solid mixing are unmatched...". Don't miss this very rare all-ages appearance! area02 THE CRYSTAL METHOD DJ Set! www.thecrystalmethod.com | Los Angeles Ever since they started making their first singles in the mid 90’s out of the Bomb Shelter--their congested home studio in Los Angeles, California--Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland of The Crystal Method have held strong as forerunners of the electronic music revolution in America. A Grammy nomination; a slot on Linkin Park’s recent monster benefit for their Music For Relief fund; catwalk DJ’s for Rock ‘N Republic’s Fall 2004 Los Angeles Fashion Week show; and “Community Service,” their popular Friday night weekly radio show on Indie 103.1 FM--these are all small parts of what makes up The Crystal Method’s overall recent presence. The follow-up mix album in 2005 is dedicated to bringing fans the freshest and most exciting selections in what they love most: break-beat music. DJ ICEY System Recordings | Zone Records | Essential Mix | www.djicey.com | Florida Discovered by BBC Radio 1 DJ and longtime A&R kingpin Pete Tong, Icey became the first American producer to sign to his ffrr label in 1997 as an artist, and then the first American DJ to be selected to record a prestigious "Essential Mix". With over 200 12” singles under his production belt, the “King of Breaks” has SoundScanned over 300,000 units in North America alone. UBERZONE Live! www.uberzone.net | Los Angeles Uberzone is the brainchild of southern California native Q (named after the "gizmo" -loving James Bond character). Like his namesake, Q is a die-hard collector of all things electronic, and has been collecting electronic-music gear since his early teens. His early singles, "Botz" and "The Freaks", released on taste-maker indie dance label City of Angels, were critically acclaimed club tracks that established Q as one of the leading American producers of breakbeat music. These singles were charted consistently by DJs like Florida's DJ Icey and the UK's Adam Freeland, among others. His remixes of Sarah McLachlan, The Crystal Method and BT also established him as one of the biggest names in the American dance scene. Spin Magazine named Uberzone as one of the six producers to create "the biggest beats ever." INFLUENZA Pure Phunk | www.sickbeats.com | www.nexusartists.com | Vancouver, BC The cold front hovering Canada’s west coast music scene has recently warmed to the breakbeat sound. A whole new culture has taken hold. This radical change of climate has unleashed a ‘Nu’ epidemic from Vancouver: the duo known as Influenza. Symptoms may include feverish bass, infectious groove, and a nasty case of funk. (Onset is immediate and there is no known cure.) Jason Craig (Oddmud), who had been spinning breaks for 2 years at that point, decided he wanted to take it to the studio. For this, he found both a mentor and partner in Jeff Malcolm (Psidream); and conveniently for him, Jeff had already logged his share of years in the studio. The strength of this team was apparent from the start; within months they completed their first project: A remix of ‘Man’O’War - The Sting’ for Sponge Records in the U.K. (10/19/02). The success of that project affirmed their talent to the world; though, it seems they personally never had any doubt. With plenty of new tunes in the works – originals, remixes, as well as being remixed by Krafty Kuts and Introspective -- the Canadian duo of Influenza shows no signs of slowing down; After all, the only true treatment for sick beats is respect. DJ FLAVE aka THE FUNKIST Alphatribe | Open House | Seattle His foot? His elbows? His mouth? Maybe you prefer watching him scratch behind his back? Not good enough for you? Well see if you can swallow him coming up and playing a live free styled performance of him playing saxophone over some chunky house beats! But there’s something else... If his alter ego "Tha Funkist" takes control of his body hold on to your loved ones, because all hell is about to break lose! A 70’s Disco super hero appears with a white afro that can touch the ceiling. This isn’t just a “DJ”, Flave is a performer in all ways. Enjoy your show. DEAN LOWDEN basic.entertainment | www.bebasic.net | Seattle What makes a DJ unique? Is it their presence? Their track selection? The way they can masterfully work their mixer? Or is it their ability to take a crowd from one side of the emotional spectrum to the other in the course of 120 minutes? Well Dean Lowden has it all. Dean's has been droppin' the cuts for well over seven years. In a short span of time, Dean has already played with the likes of Hybrid, Steve Porter, David Hollands, DJ Swamp and many others. Dean Lowden is one of those artists who once you think you've got him figured out, he turns everything upside down, leaving you breathless. Not your average artist, Dean is constantly pushing the envelope. area03 hosted by MCMC - www.grapevinez.net | United Kingdom APHRODITE - *Aphrodite's newest project "Overdrive" out now on Feed Records!* Urban Takeover | www.aphrodite.com | United Kingdom DJ Aphrodite aka Gavin King, is the man behind the Aphrodite Recordings. It all started way back in the summer of love '88' running a club in called Aphrodite, the namesake has been with since. Through various chance meetings in City Sounds Urban Shakedown. The progession to jungle was a natural step over the next few years. Aphrodite Recordings is the solo outlet for all music with the Aphro signature. DJ Aphrodite is known for playing out a good vibe that ranges from classic to upfront and completely exclusive dubplates in countries in all parts of the world DOM & ROLAND Dom & Roland Productions | United Kingdom Misleadingly plural, Dom & Roland is actually the one-man attack of Dominic Angus, whose slim but steady stream of EPs released through noted drum'n'bass imprints Moving Shadow, Suburban Base, and Doc Scott's 31 Records have represented the harder, darker, more experimental edge of dancefloor-oriented hardstep. Signed by Moving Shadow to a nonexclusive contract in early 1996, Dom's initial singles deviated sharply from the brighter, more melodic thrust of much of the label's back catalog. But Angus' commitment to pushing the hardstep envelope while still pushing bassbins has also meant his tracks have gotten high play among critics as well as DJ's. HIVE - *Welcome To Violence LP Tour!* Violence Recordings | www.violencerecordings.com | California Celebrated on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s in the unassuming personality of futurist B-boy Hive that drum and bass finds its mightiest bridge between the UK and the US. His tracks have become staples of virtually all of drum and bass’ legends, from Andy C to Goldie, and make regular appearances on Grooverider’s Radio 1 program--on which Hive’s towering “Neo” spent weeks at number one on the Five Mighty Rollers. Hive’s label Violence has registered sales comparable to Ram, Renegade Hardware, and Valve. He released a tremendous remix of Goldie’s and Rob Playford’s “The Shadow” for Moving Shadow. Metalheadz has invited him to record an e.p. for the label. He’s toured worldwide, completing a month of dates in New Zealand and Australia in the fall of 2002, preceded by a month in the UK and Europe, which included a guest appearance for the Valve Soundsystem. No American has gained such complete entree into the heart of drum and bass. ZACHARIA 360bpm | www.graylife.com |Seattle Zach Herman (aka Zacharia) has been one of Seattle's most influential drum & bass DJ's for the past 10 years. Founder of 360BPM, Zach's role in putting Seattle on the map as a "junglist" scene has been monumental and well received by talent all over the world. THE DOWLZ Kaos Theory | Seattle Jeff Dowling (aka The Dowlz) started DJing drum and bass and hip hop turntablism with a few friends back in early 1999. By late 2000, he was playing out several times a week, running an all ages club, and promoting a highly successfull drum and bass weekly under the crew name Kaos Theory. It's around this time The Dowlz started a second crew called Grooveside. The end of 2001 saw Grooveside grow to be one of the major players in the Seattle rave scene, and The Dowlz put into the Seattle drum and bass limelight. The Dowlz has played a major role in the tremendous growth and excellent reputation that the Seattle drum and bass scene has recieved. AARON SIMPSON Tytan Studios | Next Level | www.aaronsimpson.com | Seattle Seattle's intelligent DnB prodigy returns to bring us yet another unparalled performance with creative programming, technical mixes, and a passion for music that doesnt end. Aaron's journey has taken him on path full of twists and turns, with two of the most well receieved series of mix cds in town, opening up for the biggest names in the business, and more accolades than you can shake a stick at! The bottom line remains... the kid drops sick tracks and is one solid dj! TICKET INFORMATION - ON SALE MONDAY, OCTOBER 3RD, 2005
