I'm not hating on island events cause i've been to some seriously dope ones, it's just everytime i go to a club event there's never been a good turn out. but i could be wrong, it's happened before. it's just not worth it IMO

last year at world of drum n bass tour is the most packed i've seen. each time it feels like there's only 30 people in there! and i've been there LOTS.. no effort is put into promotion! they need good promotional team! |

James works hard? i dont think so! lol i came into his record store, he barely even mentioned jungle room unless i started questioning him... I was in Victoria every single weekend for 5 months last year, and every weekend it was same thing another day! but which shows have you attended there? wonder if we came across each other then..? PS Vic is small, but can bring unbelievable amount of people to a party! think about their raves.. they can bring 2 - 3 grand of people np! |

^^^^ raves are wayyyyyy different than dnb shows. i'm not talking about raves. and i think you mean john??? john whitebird! you can get thousands of people to go to a rave in van too but can't get that many to dnb shows. i was just stating my opinion.......from what i know of john he works really hard. i wouldn't base my opinion of him on walking into his record store and him not promoting his shows. does wood promote his shows when i go into boomtown.......NOPE.....he sells me his shit and says a nice hello.

^That's because John's usually the one who's promoting the shows, not James. (edit:meant to be under alla's post)
The DnB scene here is by far WAYYYYY smaller than Van's, it is in no way comparable. We just don't have that many people in Vic. There's such big turnout for parties because they are situated on the lower mid-island, which is much easier for everyone on the rock to get to (plus it's more worthwhile driving 2-3 hours for an all night show instead of a clubnight) AND parties let in everyone under 19 aswell. Not to mention, most have a variety of genres. |
