Robogirls 3.6 Seattle March 11th w/ dj icon
WebbwerX, Studio Seven:
Stage One Dj ICON (Reverb Records/ Chaotica/ Sister NYC/ Femme Dj’st, San Francisco) http://www.djicon.com/ ICON, also known as Connie Wong, began her DJ career in 1996 at age 16 in San Francisco, California. She quickly rose in the ranks and created a name for herself in the underground, soon to break through the surface onto clubs, televisions, and radios around the globe. ICON was known as a Trance DJ for the first half of her career but since 2001, she has immersed herself into Breakbeats and almost exclusively plays Nu-Skool and Funky Breaks, a style she refers to as "Dirty Breaks". However, when called upon, her versatility allows her to play all genres of electronic dance music. Whether it's Breaks or Beats, she is known to always keep the dance floor moving. ICON founded her production company, Mach 5, in 2000 and has promoted many of her own events in San Francisco as well as in New York City, where she resided for almost three years. During that time, ICON also co-founded Sister NYC (www.sisternyc.com), an east coast chapter of the original all-female DJ collective from San Francisco, Sister SF (www.sistersf.com). ICON has appeared on two different television series. In 2001, she was featured as one of the U.S.'s most promising up and coming DJs in "Disc Jockey", a twelve-part documentary series that aired on Showtime and ShoNext. In 2003, she starred as the DJ on "The Wade Robson Project", a dance competition hosted by super choreographer, Wade Robson, on MTV. The hit series aired in the U.S., U.K. and Europe, soon to be aired in Asia. ICON has a number of radio show residencies. She does a monthly Breaks show for "Thump Funk" on XM Satellite 80, plays regularly for "House Nation", Friday nights on Wild 94.9, and still periodically appears on "Solid State", a weekly Saturday night electronic music show on K-ROCK in New York City. She has also appeared on Bay Area Breakbeat shows, "Future Breaks FM" and "Bassline FM". ICON is represented by Chaotica Music Agency, one of the most renowned booking agencies in the world. She is on a roster, and often performs with many of the top acts in the industry including Paul Oakenfold, Sandra Collins, The Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, The Streets, and many more. Dj Kares (www.digitalgoodtime.com/ Next Level, Boston) http://www.digitalgoodtime.com/Artist/DJ%20Kares/ Rapidly becoming a recognizable face in the dance scene, Kares has been enamoring partygoers across the United States as her infectious positive attitude envelops dancefloors both big and small as she drops her signature funky, progressive sound. Her innate ability to get the crowd moving stems from her long-time passion for dance music, and years spent as a cheerleader by day, nightclub employee by dark as she worked at several local spots. Spending most of her time in clubs in both Boston and New York City, Kares cites her initial inspiration for jumping on the decks as the likes of great djs Ferry Corsten, Armin van Burren and Paul Van Dyk, while crediting several dj/producer friends for teaching her the tricks of the trade. Kares has an energetic, refreshing style that fades the boundaries of several genres, from progressive trance to breaks and back through on a funky ride that keeps people dancing all night long. A sampling of the cities Kares has played includes Pittsburgh, Jackson, Memphis, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Tampa and Springfield, where she held a monthly residency. This past spring took Kares on an adventure through some East Coast party cities – New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and of course, Miami for WMC ’05, where her gigs included the XM Radio-broadcast CSI Miami Party at Harrison’s with D:Fuse and the well-on-its-way-to-infamy Plastic Sex party, featuring a Boston vs. NYC dj showdown. On the local scene, Kares plays a variety of parties in Boston and the surrounding area, and was one of the featured djs at the MySpace 2004 Halloween Party at Axis. She has appeared on several radio shows in every corner of the country. From manning warm-up duties for djs such as Icey, Baby Anne, and Simply Jeff, to rockin’ out unique peak-time sets in various locales, Kares has well-beyond proven that from here, there’s nowhere to go but up. Dj Naha (GrayLife/ , Seattle) http://www.djnaha.com/ In her ten years behind the decks, NAHA has risen to the top of her game. Her mixing style and technique is as diverse as the genres she spins, including techno, breakbeats, digital hardcore, hip-hop, and jungle. She has played all across the U.S. and in Canada. In Seattle she has held dozens of residencies, hosted online radio shows, produced countless events and inspired a new generation of djs and dancers. NAHA has always endeavored to present something unexpected...to turn people onto new styles of music and do it in a way which is truly unique JIMNI CRICKET (WebbwerX, Seattle ) MADORA MEW ( WebbwerX, Seattle) NYX (Breakbeat Ninjas / ww.djnyx.com ,Seattle) CHOP STIX (Mad Cow, Seattle) SONNY CHIBA as DR.IDO (WebbwerX, Seattle) ROOM TWO (The Closet) Chris Atom (WebbwerX, Seattle) Smaug (Seattle-OutBreak, Seattle) Steele (WebbwerX | Stainless | GoodBeat), Seattle) Miss Jevious (Zodiac, Seattle) Tailanna (Zodiac Seattle) Gabriel (Mad Cow, Seattle) I Dr.Ido Swear revenge on these girls with my ultimate all boys super army!!!
