maybe this year the stage promoters can actually communicate and get some diversity going for their timeslots.

nothing like have 6 stages to choose from and getting to hear breaks, breaks, breaks, breaks, breaks, or trance for all of Saturday night...

I think that was a "subtle" hint that they should book him. I think that would be pretty cool, I could see him playing at the portal, they do lots of stuff like that. Mux, you might want to even send in a demo, they like the live stuff a fair bit.

Personally, I like how Shambhala is changing by booking a variety of acts that appeal to a more broad audience.

Its not surprising though, to many the shambhala music festival is more then just a rave, its an experience. 3 Days of sometimes some of the best DJ's around.
I cant wait to go this summer- I've wanted to go for a few years now and cant wait to party at the mother-of-all-parties (on the west coast), that and cant forget Soundwave - an island size shambhala.

Thats cool, they play more on the funky side right? Ive only got one radio mix from them and it was mostly old cheese, but Ive got a couple of their tracks on vinyl that are pretty dopetastic.

From what I understand of Shambhala, each stage is run by entirely different companies and/or managers who do their bookings and timeslot planning independantly of each other. It's something that should probably change methinks. There was a decent variety of acts at Shambhala over the course of the 3 days, it's just that the timeslots weren't great - especially on Saturday night when it was essentially breaks all night on 5 of the 6 stages.

PS - the new Ewok village sucks ass - I like the old one much better...

Malente is one dude - Christoph... really good friend with Jon from Fort Knox Five.

Yep... definitely more on the funky-electro Breaks and lately, House side as well.

The radio mix is meh... Most of his tracks have been released on Unique Records (three artist albums out already) and another label called Moonbootique. His last album Rip It Up was sick.

I think he mentioned he's working on another new artist album for 2006 and has a new track out from it called Like A Freek. -- Good tune.

yes it is more then a rave; it's an experience. But for me, the music will either make or break the experience. Gotta have good beats, or I will be drivin home.

From reading their website, it seemed like the Village last year was just a basic framework for a much grander plan. I still have faith.

Many North Americans have likely not yet heard of this Brit whom Neptunes super-producer Pharrell Williams revealed he was a huge fan of live to millions of listeners on Tim Westwood's BBC Radio show.

That will all soon change after his current European tour with Pharrell, a gig as host of the Stuff Magazine Style Awards (L.A) and two Worldwide TV Campaigns (Absolut Vodka and Roundtree Fruit Pastilles)

No one musical genre is large enough to contain Kela's multi-vocal prowess. He is a member of the legendary Rock Steady Crew whose talents stretch far beyond the realm of just Hiphop as he also incorporates R&B, Drum & Bass, Electronica, Pop, and more into his “one man, one mic, one mouth” recordings and performances

Kela has collaborated live or in studio with among others:

PHARRELL WILLIAMS
