October 13th, Friday the 13th part 2, SIR KUTZ!!!
SIR
KUTZ SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, USA After six years of rock n' rollin' in punk bands, Julian Stephens, known now as Sir Kutz, decided to make a musical impact in the underground dance scene. Shortly after he started collecting records, Julian landed a spot in the Virus break beat crew (virusbreaks.com). Virus hosted one of the longest running break beat nights on the West Coast. Over the past 6 years, this opportunity had helped Sir Kutz to develop the energetic and clean, yet technical mixing style he is known for today. Sir Kutz soon caught the eye of a successful West Coast DJ / Producer by the name of Dj Dig-Dug (www.uscevents.com). The two began practicing together and Julian became obsessed with the speed garage sound that Doug had introduced him to. In 2002, Sir Kutz and Dj Dig-Dug then formed an alliance under the name “The Bass-Sick Boyz”. Armed with an unequalled arsenal of rare / unreleased break beat, 2-step, and speed garage records, these two talented dj’s dressed in business suits, toured the northwest and Canada for three years straight and blew crowds away. With many shows and touring under his belt, Sir Kutz started another side project co-founding a North American speed garage collective. The United States of Bassline was founded in 2004 and incorporates numerous producers from Las Vegas, Seattle, British Columbia, Hollywood, Youngstown, and Victoria BC. The crew already has several releases on UK record labels and has big plans in store for the states. Julian is finally starting to reap the rewards of his hard work, and relocated himself in Seattle Washington. Sir Kutz has opened for many a-list DJs in the past year including Dj Icey, Diesel Boy, Reid Speed, Scissorkicks, Factor E, Deepsky, The Incredible Melting Man, Baby Anne, Badboybill, Tipper, Dj Fixx, and Nigel Richards. He is constantly dropping his signature big bassline beats at parties / clubs all over the states, Canada, and has recently been showcased in Taiwan. If you like dark n’ dirty nuskool breaks, or speed garage warpers, then you definitely have to check out this northwest bad bwoy. Expect a floor shaking, massive bassline experience every time he steps to the decks! 6 dollars before 11, more after that. For all that remember last year we sold out and people were waiting in line outside. Avoid disapointment and show up early! oh ya, its at the jungle room! |
