Guitar Wiring Problem..
Im hoping we have some guitar people on this site...
When i got my guitar for free, i planned to fix it, and i finally got around to it, the main problem is the wiring, i took it apart, and found out some stuff. I went to look online for a wiring diagram but i cant really find a useful one. Well i was wondering if someone can help me. I dont know the brand or else i would have just googled for the wiring diagram. But it has 2 pickups, One tone, and one volume, and one fader switch and an output port. I need someones help to figure out how the wiring goes, so hopefully someone out there can help me. The wires coming out of the Pickups are Green, Red and black. I can figure it out as long as i figure out what the wires mean. But still any help will be appreciated. |

as your attorney, I advise you to take it to a professional.
I fuck around way more than I should with my equipment, and when I bought my first axe I ended up dishing out as much as I paid for it for new pickups because I figured I'd remember how I took them apart. I know what I'm doing (for the most part) now, but every now and then I still have to take it to a pro. The colour of the wire really means nothing. My brand new Schecter has black wires; no distinguishing colour whatsoever. So I recommend taking it in. It shouldn't cost you much to get it rewired. . it should only take an hour or two. You never know. . you might solder something that shouldn't be soldered or short your pickups out. Don't disrespect your instrument by fucking it up; it's a sacred thing, y'know. |

Ewart Guitars
1040 Parker St. Vancouver BC 604-255-7732 It's right above Backline. Great guy, and fair pricing. He's been the goto guy for years. I would suggest following his advice, as he'll probably say to change your wiring for american made ie- better wires and pots, but he'll just wire it if thats what you want. His website was down when I checked, so you'll have to call. Barry Ewart: for guitars Mr. Ho: for amps ahhhhh...Dr. Ho, made my marshall a MONSTER |

Take it down to a music shop, they are knowledgeable abotu that kind of stuff and probably won't charge you anything and it will save you from screwing up anything by doing it yourself. Wards/Long and McQuade are good, that's where I bought my guitar and as he suggested up there, there are other places. I suggest looking in the yellow pages. Good luck

I've got a beautiful Fender accoustic/electric, but there's a bit of a buzz on the low E. It could be the bridge, or it could be a fret needs filing, but either way, it's *way* out of my league to fix... at least, I'm not willing to chance fucking up my baby, y'know? :) I'm a big fan of Backline, just curious if the location suggests association, or if it's just coincidence? |
