A “WILD” CHRISTMAS PRESENT… -- featuring TWO members from one of the most influential turntablist crews ever - THE ALLIES WHEN: Sunday, December 23rd -- 9PM till 3AM WHERE: Wild Coyote Night Club -- 1312 South West Marine Drive -- 19+ venue, 2 pieces of ID required for entry PLAYING INDIVIDUAL & 2 x 4 SETS! People are still talking about the set where he blew the roof off the Shark Club when we brought him last… 3 TIME WORLD DMC CHAMPION… DJ CRAZE, Miami - ‘98, ‘99, & ‘00 World DMC Champion / ’01 & ’00 DMC World Team Champion - Contagious Musiq / :: Detecting Flash :: / MySpace.com - Craze - MIAMI, Florida - Hip Hop / Club / Turntablism - www.myspace.com/crazearoni From the moment he won the 1998 DMC World Championship the face of turntablism changed. Considered the underdog amongst his opponents (Shortkut, Dummy, and Develop) the young Nicaraguan native left the audience in awe of his ability to contort sounds into works of art. The DMCs would never be the same again! In those six minutes, Craze had brought forth a renaissance into the world of turntabilism, which many could hope to repeat, but none would ever come close to. That routine has been regarded as the best well rounded battle routine in the history of the DMCs, in other words, the greatest Fucking Six Minutes in the history of Turntabilism!!! That year also heralded the coming of one of the most influential turntablist crews, The Allies. Started off by Craze and Develop, the crew was unlike any that had come before. Alongside the other members, A-trak, Infamous, J-Smoke, Spiktakular, and Klever, they created a superpower that would leave its stamp on the face of team battles. They had a swagger that was hard to ignore and the skills to back it up. The outflow of creative genius did not stop there though and the following year Craze defended his title with an envious zeal. Upon winning yet again, he left no room for doubt that his skills were genuine and not just beginners luck. He had proven himself amidst the birth of his daughter Angelee (for whom he dedicated the six minutes) just five days before. With two championships under his belt Craze had accomplished a feat that only one other person had done before (DJ David, from Germany, who won the solo competition in '90 and '91). On September 23, 2000, Craze made DMC history when he claimed the championship yet again for the third time, a feat that still remains to be duplicated. So you see, to include the word average in a description of DJ Craze would be an oxymoron. There are people who have moments of rare talent and then there are those who embody pure genius in their art form undeniably Craze falls under the latter without question! His is like the Midas touch; for it seems everything he puts his fingers on turns to gold. Craze's championship titles include: - World ITF Scratch Off Champion '98 - World DMC Champion '98, 99, '00 - ITF Western Hemisphere Scratch Off Champion '98 - Winter Music Conference Scratch Off Champion '96, '97, '98, '99 - East Coast DMC Champion '97 - East Coast Rap Sheet Champion '96 - Zulu National Champion '95, '96 Craze’s blend of hip-hop, breaks, drum & bass and turntablism is untouchable. With all this, the man boasts a travelogue the likes of a rock star with Iceland, Singapore, Bangkok, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, South Africa, Brazil, and Chile just to name a few of the places where he has performed. In fact, the only continent he hasn’t been to is Antarctica and that’s due to lack of a population! Wherever he might go he leaves a trail of people amazed by his humble demeanor and his unique unsurpassed blend of Hip Hop, Breaks, Drum & Bass and Turntablism. The man holds six DMC Championships under his belt need we say more. And 2 time US DMC Champion… KLEVER, Atlanta - ’00 & ’01 USA DMC Champion -- STPSCHLD / Contagious Musiq / MySpace.com - KLEVER - atlanta,, Georgia - House / Club / Electro - www.myspace.com/kleverbeats Check out this mix from Klever here - KLEVER MIX Klever is one of the few and best DJ’s who can balance technical skill and party rocking. His style is energetic and air-tight." - DJ A-Trak DJ Klever aka Josh Winkler was born on the fourth of July in 1977. Before he could even walk, let alone strut, Josh was spoon-fed the world of rhythm by way of his pops, famous blues musician, Juke Joint Johnny. At the tender age of four, Josh received his very first drum set, a manimall.. Muppet Show kit that he practiced playing until the skins busted. Josh's wonder years were spent like any all-american kid: playing baseball, grinding curbs, and eating apple pie. He distinctly remembers the countless nights snuck out and hit Atlanta's local skate spots where his rep grew bigger for pushing big tricks. At the age of sixteen, Josh’s passion for both music and tricks met the world of turntablism and Klever was born. Growing up with a hip hop background, Klever studied DJ’s like Premiere, Cash Money, Afrika Bambaataa and Jazzy Jeff for their mixing and scratching arrangements even as a youngster; but he was also heavily influenced by the wilds of Atlanta and was a regular attendee of Freaknik. There he was intrigued by the booty music of Luke, 2 Live Crew, and Kilo. By 1997, Klever began relentlessly competing in every local competition possible where he linked up with the Third World Citizens - Faust, Shorty, Shotgun, Craze, and T-Rock. In 2000, Klever seized the national DMC championship title and while at the international DMC competition, he was inducted into the world famous Allies crew, consisting of world-renowned turntablists such as Craze and A-Trak. Shortly after, Klever began traveling the globe a lot with Craze during so, the two released a now cult classic - Scratch Nerds... Klever began to produce prominent break records for battle DJ’s and producers. In 2001, Klev successfully defended his national DMC title. He then represented the states in London for the international title. Later that year, he also took national ITF title in San Fransisco. In the past 5 years, Klever has been performing his signature sets non-stop around the world (Taiwan, England, Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Scandinavia, Australia, Japan, etc). He consistently amazes crowds and party-goers from 60 to 60,000 at world renowned venues such as (but not limited to) Miami’s Ice Palace, Tai Pae’s Ministry of Sound, NYC’s Roxy and Irving Plaza, Club Fabric in London, numerous House of Blues venues throughout the U.S., El Rey Theatre in L.A., and Atlanta’s Tabernacle. He has also showcased his skills at monumental events like the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the Canadian Circa Skateboard Tour, Audiotistic in L.A., and the High Museum in Atlanta. Klever has seen the future of his hometown because he paints it. Beyond his accredited mastery as a turntablist, his ability to combine crowd-roaring routines and mix sets with his signature party rocking steez has established his name throughout the DF circuit as tomorrows DJ... He moves crowds in every direction from his roots of Crunk, Booty Bass, and Hip Hop to the sweaty sounds of Electro, Dance-Rock, Baltimore, New-Wave, Hard Rock, and anything worthy to make you rock with finesse. KLEVER is currently a member of the world famous ALLIES/ammo rec. /STPCHLD crew. He is working on collaborative projects that encompass the street culture lifestyle through music art and fashion. Between touring nonstop and his dedicated lab time, you can find Klever maintaining his monthly residency at Atlanta’s most off-the-wallest party otherwise known as Sloppy Seconds.
