(2008.05.03) SINFUL 2008 w/Cosmic Gat @ MLC
Twisted Productions, Allya, & Taz present…
WHEN: Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 -- 10PM till 7AM WHERE: Maritime Labour Centre 1880 Triumph Street, Vancouver (At Victoria, Three Blocks North of Hastings) SINFUL 2008 —DRESS THE THEME - RED & BLACK! A few years ago Tazix and Allya partnered up with Evolve to aid in branding a new party. A party that would express a sense of style, convey a vibe, and get Vancouver excited again. That party was SINFUL. After three successful years of sold out shows including an outdoor massive in Europe, there were fears that the Sinful name might permanently move to a foreign country. And while Evolve has moved on to producing events elsewhere, Tazix and Allya have been aching to bring this show back. So after much prodding by the fans, and in partnership with Twisted, we’re very pleased to announce the return of SINFUL to Vancouver… TRANCE/PROGRESSIVE/HARD DANCE STAGE COSMIC GATE, Germany - Black Hole Recordings, Cosmic Gate featuring DJ BOSSI & NIC CHAGALL After a chance meeting at a record label head office in Germany, Nic Chagall and Bossi have created and inspired some of the most influential music ever to hit our dance floors over the past decade. Today, Cosmic Gate remain in the top 30 of the DJ Mag top 100 for the fifth consecutive year confirming Cosmic Gate amongst the elite of dance music’s most famous and popular DJ duos. During the Trance boom of the late nineties no DJ set would have been complete without the sounds of Cosmic Gate. Original productions such as The Drums, Back To Earth, Exploration of Space, The Truth, Raging and the unforgettable Fire Wire dominated DJ record boxes, homes, and car stereos across the globe for the majority of the synth filled millennium year. Success after success with their own original productions has been accompanied by an impressive repertoire of Cosmic Gate remixes for artists including Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Blank & Jones, Svenson & Gielen, and Vanessa Mae to name but a few. Behind the decks, Cosmic Gate can be found week in week out performing at the worlds leading clubs from Velfarre in Tokyo to Glow in Washington and from The Gallery in London to Sydney’s massive Home club. European festivals such as the legendary Nature One, Mysteryland and Trance Energy have paved the way for the Cosmic Gate DJ experience to be appreciated in full effect. Regular DJ appearances on every continent have given Cosmic Gate the chance to reach their truly global fan base. Cosmic Gate have always been, first and foremost about their fans. The ability to adapt their musical style with the ever changing face of dance music has seen the Cosmic Gate sound develop and move on from the harder edged trance of the nineties through to their current, more progressive yet still driving energetic music style. This year saw the release of Cosmic Gate’s Back 2 Back vol. 3, the the latest in their incredible mix compilation series distributed through the worlds leading trance label, Black Hole Recordings. Their third artist album, Earth Mover, recently saw release as well. Comprising a mixture of vocal and instrumental tracks the album combines progressive elements with Trance, Techno, Tech-House, Electro and House. Besides including their single hits Ultra Curve, Bilingual and I Feel Wonderful (feat. Jan Johnson), it also features the now infamous Body of Conflict which has been destroying dance floors worldwide this past year. Don’t miss out as Twisted brings Vancouver BOTH members of Cosmic Gate for the first time ever in Vancouver! KAMUI, Germany - Traffic Tunes, Druck, Fe, Kamui Kamui have been causing chaos in the record box of many a DJ for the past few years with their diverse fusion of Tech Trance and Hard Trance. More shockingly however, is that by the time the duo had graduated highschool, they already had a string of big releases on top labels and a plethora of experience many producers would have taken years to acquire. Consisting of Dominik Felsmann and Patrick Scheidt, the duo from Stuttgart, Germany contacted each other through an internet music platform and met for the first time in the summer of 2003. They decided to produce together and an instant friendship was formed. When they decided to combine their efforts and form a new alias as Kamui, their popularity exploded. This was due to the release of their debut track, Ghosts, which saw release on the prestigious Overdose label. Since then the two have released many of their own productions and remixes on labels like Overdose, Tracid Traxxx, Traffic Tunes, Straight On Black, Drizzly, and Druck, as well as appeared on a massive amount of compilations. Kamui have created their own unique sound by fusing elements from almost every kind of dance music which has influenced them. This unique and innovative style has seen many a DJ booking for the team and 2006 saw them tour as DJs in countries like Australia, Canada, the UK, and Germany. 2008 has started off with a bang for Kamui. The new single, Electro Slut, has been playlisted by all the harder DJs and this tune is a monster like no other. Kamui made their Vancouver debut at Sinful years ago and now it is our distinct pleasure to welcome them back for another pounding set!
