How old were you at your first Rave?

Mine was when I was 16 (about a month away from 17) in January 1998 at the Jericho Community hall. It was called Plush. I think I did a couple lines of speed before I went in (the second and last time I did it), but that was it. The "security" (read: friends of the promoters) searching my bag and found my pill bottle full of tylenol and such. He dumped it into his hand and looked it over, put it back in the bottle then dropped the bottle back in my backpack.

When I walked in I felt like my life had fallen into place. I felt like I had found HOME. I had finally found a place to fit in.

PS -+> The second room scared me. I didn't like the music AT ALL. I realized years later that it was jump-up. *shudder* =P

16. "Unity" in Prince George. Went solo, essentially. Dropped 1.5 hits of acid. Marvelled at how this picture of intertwined snakes writhed. Got very wet. Got random hugs. Met random people. Very, very great party; I wish I'd have dropped E instead.

This party defined PLUR for me; I've yet to feel it as strong ever.
