Matt 'boo-urns' Darey
Here we go...
The guy seemed like an arite guy in the beginning, but from some stuff i heard and saw he became a prick real fast. His mixing skills were primative, nothing fancy. He had aaarite track selection, not the best. in spite of that... Myshell and Corina rocked it propper! SKILLS!!! Very well thrown party, the sound was sick, the vibe was good. SIVERWATERS WHUUUUUT. good job guys. Christine u rock :) (i got it out ;) lol) Josh thanks for everything, even my bday present :) THE SOUND WAS A+ Myles wicked fun! whoever i forgot, sorry, but had a good time all and all. i thought matt darey did a good job
his mixing was off, but there were some issues with CDJs i heard the pitch change during tunes, first i thought it was matt doing it on purpose, but i guess he wasnt. and i guess when the pitch is changing on you without you doing anything mixing can be a real bitch. and i guess that would be explanation to the poor mixing, nabs track selection was good too. i was quite happy to hear some classics. the sound wasn't all that great though, it was just far too loud. levels don't need to be at max for people to hear the music, i was far from speakers and my ears were still hurting. not to mention that it distorts the sound too. it wasn't heavily distorted, but you could still hear it. good turn out, cool crowd. i really like bouncers at cyber, very friendly. good way for silverwaters to show that their parties can be good :) |

The problem was that Cyber has the new Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3's which need a software update. Matt phoned his 'tech' back home after the gig to determine the issue. So that's why both decks seemed 'broken' and pitch jumping.
The decks were replaced with MK2's for the last part of his set but he felt bad about the situation because he was unable to mix properly or play the tracks he wanted to. But he really loved the crowd and was appreciative of the welcome he received from everyone! Oh...and thanks, Nabs! |
