I had my first DJ gig when I was 10, but started on 2 decks 10 years ago. What originally hooked you into the DJing scene? Hearing "Cowgirl" by Underworld for the first time hooked me on electronic music. That, and a friend who showed me how to work his 1200's back in 1996. What type of music do you specialise in? It depends on where i'm playing, but high energy funky/disco house and electro mainly. And when the gig calls for it, live saxophone in the mix! Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it? A Speed Garage track for sure. But they were all so expensive it's hard to remember which one cost the most. I'm sure i spent at least $50 on a few of them! What is your most treasured record and why? Out of the 3000 i have on my shelf, it's hard to pick just one! Since "Cowgirl" started it all, it would have to be in the Top 5. What events have you played at? All kinds! What National / International clubnights have you played at? The last couple of years have taken me on the road to Toronto, Seattle and as far away as Mexico! Have you got any DJing horror stories? You mean like the time I won a berth in the DMC Skills competition at the Miami Winter Music Conference, busted up my ankle the week before, decided to hobble down there anyway with a suitcase, box of records AND my sax, only to get rained out BEFORE it was my turn to perform? Are you a resident DJ, if so where? Past residencies include Element Sound Lounge, Crush Champagne Lounge, Vibes Lounge, The Odyssey, Celebrities, The World Afterhours and the best underground club in Vancouver : My Basement!
