Misinformation much....
there was no gun, no one got shot (considering there would of been the smell of gun powder in the air, a dead person in the vicinity and an ambulance in less than 3 min), security was not selling e, people were too fucked up confusing the three guys in novelty black shirts labelled "security" and thought they were actual security staff...haha, also.... the fights that occured are the ones that forced LIFT 2 at Maritime to shut down early aswell.... people should really learn to take a fight outside... honestly. |

Alright, Things I didn't like.
Event claiming they had a heated hall for us to wait in then making us sit outside for 30 min while security walked back and forth taking anywhere from 10-20 bucks a head to let people into the inside lineup, which by the way did not exist, They had a hallway inside but they were just tryin to make extra money outside by making you wait out in the freezing cold so you would finnaly just pay up to get in. Then realizing that the actuall lineup was outside and once you got in it took like 2 min to get to the main room. Those security gaurds pissed me off which is not a good way to start the night. Secondly the walk from room 1 to room 2 felt like a friggin journey sometimes, if I just wanted to check out the beat in both rooms I had to cross the great sea of people detoxing in that small hallway. Thirdly, WTH were the blue glowsticks lol I got the last one :P but I wanted 2... ok lame complaint but whatever. Green would have to suffice. Past that, I did enjoy alot of the toons, overall good show just with some hickups. |

I had fun at this party. Before the party, I thought I'd spend way more time in the main room; as always, I spent most of the night in the second room. The main room did have kind of a shitty vibe to it all night. The second room was a lot better for sure.
The timeslots in the second room seemed to be all fucked up though. Some DJs played longer sets, some shorter, and I don't think anyone actually started on time. I totally wasn't feeling all the hard stuff in the main room most of the night. I barely watched Issac's set. I did stick around for most of Brooklyn Bounce's set though. He ripped it up as always. Also, I think it was Alex who ID'd a song for me during his set. Turns out a song that got me really stoked at Shambhala this year is actually a Prodigy song. Thanks. I almost got caught in the middle of the chair tossing incident. I don't think it was anyone I knew, but someone yelled "get the fuck out of the way" right before they started tossing chairs. Whoever that was, thanks. I'm just sorting through the pictures I've got right now. They'll be posted shortly. Cody took a lot of pics with the Evolve camera, so when those get posted, I think you'll find they're a lot like the pics we usually take. |

Unfortunately our friends at Core had another event on this same night which called for most of their staff and we were told that they would not have enough personnel to adequately take on both jobs. Its very easy to find a 'security' company in Vancouver, but its very hard to find one that is insured, bonded, and licensed for these types of events and given final approval from the City of Vancouver.
The fighting between two rival groups at this party was a huge bringdown for all of us. Nobody was more upset than me escorting visiting DJs around only to have to stop mid-journey to dogpile some stupid testosterone-filled monkey too stupid to solve problems with words. Those that decided to bring their beef to this show (especially after the shut-down that occurred at MLC a few weeks ago) hugely disrespected the rest of our patrons just there to have fun. I'm sorry for anyone who had to witness such immature antics last night. As it stands, nobody was seriously injured and no weapons were involved; Metal detector wands were used at the door. Regarding Tatana. Ugh, we've been trying to bring her here since June. We paid for this DJ in July with the expectation that she would be playing at Trancemission (Sept 23rd, 2006) only to have her agency tell us that they double booked her. Needless to say, there have been still more complications with regard to this artist. I cannot say more than this as it may be construde by some parties as lible/slander. Currently there are no plans for rescheduling this artist's performance until the issues at hand are settled for all concerned parties. All things considered, most people seemed to have a good time. The music in the main arena was hard as nails, but good. I spent quite a bit of time upstairs for a change (maybe I'm getting old) and was very lucky to catch most of DJ Split's set. Anyone who was up there for that set knows how sick it was. Great seeing lots of familiar faces as well. Thanks to all for coming and of course thank you to a wonderful crew for helping to bring this event together. |

To every one I met nice meeting you hit me up on msn(in my profile) if you want. I've slept just over an hour and did no drugs. This is messed. lol

Wow. i definetly had an awesome night. Good job evolve! the music was great. once again i have been blown away by brooklyn bounce. i was having a good time all night, and it was awesome to see some familiar faces again! Though i didnt care toooo much for the venue. the main room was all right, but i didnt like how faar it was to get upstairs. the heat was disgusting. I was getting drips of sweat on me from the ceiling. Sick. Also what the shit is with all the angry ravers? all those fights god. people are so retarded. I seriosuly dont understand why people fight gahh! also i was thouroughly DiSGUSTED by all the little girls in underwear. ( booty shorts would have been covering up even) the younger they are the less they wear. they seem to think they look older when they wear less. but perhaps they should wait until they develop a little bit..
but all in all the music was great! So despite the things i didnt like, i still had an AWESOME night... Armin next! woohoo! |
